The only Memi I can find seems to be a U.K. based electronics retailer and they don't have any glass screen protectors for the Note 3 that I could find.
Do you mean Mime? As in the Mime Ghost glass screen protector for the Note 3? Sorry, but I kept seeing Memi and I was wondering if that was something different from Mime. Please clear this up for me.
Regards,
Pat
I ordered the EBay one and just got it in and it is not tempered glass it is plexi-glass.

I have just ordered one of these glass screen protectors after a similar Spiegen fiasco in the original post here. I agree, the recessed home button is not only functional but also protected without the need for a stick on button cover.

Which one did you order specifically? I order and just received this: Premium Tempered Glass Screen Protector Film for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM N9000 | eBay
It certainly FEELS like glass and not some sort of plexiglass. While I didn't want to try too hard being concerned I would snap it in half, it has NO bend in it at all - it feels like a really thin stiff piece of glass. It is actually a little thicker than I expected (never used glass ones before so this is definitely thicker than the flexible film ones I used on other phones). My new N3 arrived tomorrow so it will have to wait until then to unwrap the screen protector and install.
How did you verify your's wasn't glass?
You kiddin me????
Also, what is the difference??
I just got my clone glass screen protector in from ebay. Other that a small part of the top left corner not staying on, it's not bad. I will give it a few days and maybe the corner will stick. otherwise it's nice.
Yeah I ordered the one that ships from the states and it is plexiglass. You can bend it and it has the plastic sound when tapping on it. I have installed plexiglass in several fish shacks so I am familiar with it. It still looks good but plexiglass does scratch easier than glass and can cloudy over time.

its also called acrylic glass. basically thermoplastic. and he would definitely be able to tell the difference right away
Okay, could you explain to this layman the difference between the two(? After all, they are advertising it as "tempered glass", not "plexiglass, acrylic" etc.. Also, It is very clear to me. Just as clear as the Spigen when I had it on..
Layman terms? Tempered glass is safety glass, the stuff your windshield is made of. It's actual glass that has been treated. Plexiglas and acrylic are fancy plastic. They each have their uses, but If you see them, you'll be able to tell the difference.
Put an organic solvent (acetone for example) on the surface of the product. If it melts or clouds up it is plastic. If it doesn't it is most likely glass.
I just received two of the protectors in question in the mail. I'll try some acetone today and report back.
Update: I let acetone pool/bead on the protector for several minutes and also rubbed it around with a cotton swab. Nothing happened at all. I'm no chemist but I have five daughters who have ruined and melted many a plastic thing with acetone, FWIW.
