[THEMES] Download and request themes here.

I really like this theme but I'm a newbie to this world of Smart Phones. Yesterday I rooted and backed up my Optimus S phone and installed the thuneRom. I copied the instructions for installing the themes and downloaded your Steel Elegance themes. My question is do I need to wipe any cach areas before I install the theme?

Thanks

Jeff

My update script wipes everything that needs to be wiped on its own; so, no, you do not need to.

Nick7 will this remove any apps or contacts from my phone? Sorry for the dumb questions. As for the donations do you have a PayPal account?

Need Help ASAP

I have a LG Optimus S and yesterday I rooted and backed up then applied the ThundeROM. All was good and even replaced the 2GB SD card with a 8GB SD card. This morning I found a Themes section here and followed the instructions to apply Steel Elegance by Nick7. He stated it would take a while to reboot the first time as it would have to rebuild the dalvik cash. I have waited an hour now and it has not rebooted. What can I do to restore the phone or at least get it to boot to the recovery. What could I have done wrong.

Thanks

The answer is in the first few words you wrote. Apply your back-up, then start over. Not sure but I think themes are for nROM not ThundeRom

Cordell, if you want - give it a try again.

I had this happen where it looks like it was stuck

I removed the battery, put it back in, rebooted, and was in the rom.

I am not sure why it gets stuck, but I think its something to do with choosing Reboot Now from the recovery menu.

If you power it off, then power on - it boots right up into the rom.

Well lie a dummy I did not backup the Phone with the new ROM. I tried the Stock theme Nick7 has posted and the phone boots but I get a force close dialog for the keyboard. So now I'm trying to install the 2point2 6.1 version and now where the ANDROID would flash or roll through it is a very small dot the size of a pin point. It has a very slow pulse then steady then it will pulse then steady for a while. I know this sounds dumb but I don't know how to describe it. Nick7 said it would take a while to rebuild the Dalvik cash, but what is a while?

Try reflashing the rom in recovery then reinstall the theme after you booted the rom up at least once before you do flash the theme over again. Sounds like something goofed either when you flashed the rom or the theme. Hope this helps

It should only take a max of 10-15 min. to reboot. If it hasn't after 15min. then i would say something went wrong. This is how i would go from here. Flash ThundeRom on top of what you have now, reboot after flashing the rom just to make sure your booting into the rom without issue. Then reboot into recovery, wipe just dalvik-cache,flash the theme of your choice. Then it's your choice either, power off in recovery then ppower on normally or choose reboot now in recovery.

*Edit same as ^above just he was faster.lol

10 minutes tops, if you see the pulse stop, then sort of start over you are in a "boot loop" sometimes a wipe will fix this. I would reflash the rom, then boot and try theme again.

beezy and the rest of you Thanks. I was able to get it to boot using the stock dev9 theme that Nick7 has posted. So I retried the same theme (Steel my Elegance). I powered down and powered up and now I have that very small pin dot in the center that is pulsing randomly.

If you can't get it to work, boot in to recovery, wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache. Problem should be fixed, though it may take a bit to reboot. Might save you from losing your data :P

What do you use to convert png to pro if anything, can I just rename the png to pro?

Thanks

Thanks for the help but when the android screen comes up what should it be doing like maybe a type of scroll. Mine is just solid no scrolling

There should be a light that runs back in forth behind the word Android. Try this do you have adb set on your pc? If you do open the command prompt and type this

adb logcat <---Press enter after that it should say waiting on device.Plug your phone in,what is it doing in command prompt?

I have installed the Android SDK but when I tried to get the usb drivers installed It bombs or fails at installing the driver for the Android_Sooner_Single_ADB_Interface. So I used the program and instructions from the z4root. All was good until I tried this theme.

You can always try using PDAnet it usually installs all the drivers needed for adb.
Im not real sure how it's getting stuck but here's something you could try.Downloading the theme again jst to make sure you didn't get a bad download somehow. Then last thing i would try.Completely wipe everything, flash rom, reboot just skip setting up your gmail account and everything. Once its booted, reboot, flash the theme you would like, reboot. If it works then something was messed up earlier.

Beezy I just downloaded the PDANet and will do that soon. Does the USB Debugging need to be on or am I at the root level so it does not matter right?

Thanks
