Ok... I see what I need to do...

however, I noticed that the signal indicator doesn't match what I have in the framework... and I'm unsure where to look next...

Found what I believe are the icons for that...

they're located in lge-res.apk (/res/drawable/icon_rssi_barsx.pro, etc..)

when I tried to alter them, the apk_manager tool I've been using freaked out... hmmm...

Just drop your new images in like you would with a zip. You don't need to decompile it.

ah... I compiled it (like a fool) anyway...

So... new revs... and hopefully I can call it done for now... disappointed that some of the other signal icon's won't work/can't be called for this...

Trying TPT, big issue I'm seeing is the battery icon shows charging weird. Indicator will show a constant 0 to 15 charge animation when charging a low battery, then 15 to 100 for the rest. Other themes show it with a non animated charge for whatever has been charged, then animated for whatever is left.

Is there a way to change how the stock phone app looks? I don't particularly like it much and I'd prefer something else. Maybe the HTC phone app? I've also downloaded steel my elegance but it hasn't changed the phone app.

Yeah adb pull /system/app/phone.apk and drop some new images in its res folder

I'm "googling" my ass off so I don't look like a complete noob. I've remounted the long way

"mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock5 /system"

and the short way

"adb remount"

and nothing.

Do this from recovery. Drop your files in the res folder from the other theme you want. Then sign it with the auto-sign tool found in my how to theme guide posted on the OP.

I discovered the last versions of these both had issues where the volume widget didn't display correctly.

The phone app from steel my elegance is really nice. I'd like to get that working. I'm all for asking permission first too.

I'm trying to theme the power control widget, but everything in the res folder has the .pro file extension. What do I use to modify those? Trying to make it have a transparent background, as well as change the color of the bars across the bottom showing they are on.

Pull some .png from another themed version or make your own then rename them to have a .pro extension.

Believe me, you are not alone.. I had to find all these stupid little LG framework things out on my own lol. I'm glad to help you out.

I really like this theme but I'm a newbie to this world of Smart Phones. Yesterday I rooted and backed up my Optimus S phone and installed the thuneRom. I copied the instructions for installing the themes and downloaded your Steel Elegance themes. My question is do I need to wipe any cach areas before I install the theme?
