[THEMES] Optimus s Gingerbread Themes

Re: [THEMES] Optimus s Gingerbread Themes -- 10/23/11

Is there a way to remove the picture in the notification drop down in the reTouched theme? I already use the mascot on my wallpaper. Thanks for all your hard work.Your themes are all great

This is a patch, so flash it only if you are using the regular reTouched theme. It removes Lloyd from the drop down.

Re: [THEMES] Optimus s Gingerbread Themes -- 10/23/11

jstntp, since others are asking, care to answer another question?

I'm trying to change the clock color in the GB-stock noIQ theme. I decompiled SystemUI.apk with apktool, edited status_bar.xml, and added
Code:
android:textColor="#ff000000"

directly after
Code:
<com.android.systemui.statusbar.Clock
android:textAppearance="@android:style/TextAppearance.StatusBar.Icon"

then saved, recompiled, zipped it up and then flashed it in custom recovery. Everything boots, but the status bar is completely missing. I did the same thing to drop in some icons, and everything worked fine. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for the help.

The SystemUI.apk that gets recompiled after changing xml files, needs to be resigned. Instead here is what I do:

Take the recompiled files and folders inside of your new SystemUI and replace them in the original SystemUI.apk. Then flash it.
These files would be:

-res
-resources.arsc

If you change any smali files, then include -classes.dex

Hmm, just to make sure I'm doing this right:

1. edit the xml file from the decompiled SystemUI.apk as I mentioned above
2. recompile the edited SystemUI.apk
3. unzip the edited SystemUI.apk and copy /res and resources.arsc
4. paste the copied files into the the unzipped, original SystemUI.apk
5. zip up and flash the original/edited hybrid SystemUI.apk

Is there a way to sign edited SystemUI.apk or is it not possible?

Sorry for the trouble, and thanks again.

Yes that is the idea, but you are making it more complicated then it needs to be. :p

When you recompile the apk, there will be a folder created named "build". Open the original SystemUI.apk (no need to unzip or remove from your theme zip), drag the files from the "build" folder and drop them into the open SystemUI.apk........ done. ;)

Yes, the file can be signed, but I think it must be signed as a system app which is different then a regular app. Honestly, I have spent zero time looking into signing system files because well, this method works great and is easy. Give it a shot and you will see what I mean. Hope this helps. Have fun!!

I use WINRAR which can let me open an APK, esit it.. And it would ask me if I want to update in the origin. I say yes. Thrn, use DevZipSigneer. The end :)

I understand now. I was getting hung up on the /build folder. I didn't realize it was created in the compiled directory. I'm on a mac, so the convenience of 7zip is not at my disposal.

Anyways, thanks to you I now have some small amount of success for the relatively large amount of time I put into this. I may even start a thread to further justify the time I spent. Thanks again.

Re: [THEMES] Optimus s Gingerbread Themes -- 10/23/11

IS there a way you can make theme like Zdune's MIUI or atleast the status bar icons like that for GB?

Re: [THEMES] Optimus s Gingerbread Themes -- 10/23/11

Sorry everyone, any new themes will be on hold until further notice. I might throw some things up here and there, I just never know when.

Re: [THEMES] Optimus s Gingerbread Themes -- 10/23/11

I went back to Reborn ROM. Anybody know how to remove Lloyd from the notification drop down?
I like him but i use him on my wallpaper. Thanks everyone for your hard work, my wife yells at me all the time and alls I do is read the forum you guys are the best

Re: [THEMES] Optimus s Gingerbread Themes -- 10/23/11

You would need to go in and mod that in the image that hosts the drop down background. Its on the drop downs cause they are the same image.

Thanks for your work on these! I've been enjoying simpleG v2, and my wife is likin' chillOut.

If you do happen to come across some free time at some point, my wife would love a purple theme to match her purple Optimus S. She really likes chillOut, so basically changing the blues to purples would be what she would change if she could. She even had a suggestion for the name: hazedOut. Anyway, just throwing it out there.

That launcher is the same one from Reborn Rom. I just modded it to look more like the stock GB one.

Here is the original reborn launcher that is in my old theme thread. Just flash it.

Other launchers will support the app drawer, but they be a slightly different flavor and look and function slightly different.

The LG launcher is kinda neat in that it is so lightweight, fast, and allows you to organize your apps in the drawer. It is, however, limited when it comes to customizing the dock.

You can try some of the heavyweight alternatives to see what you like, but I've been using Zeam Launcher for a while now and it is lightweight and rock solid. You won't get the same style app drawer, but is snappy and has some features that you don't get with the LG launcher, such as alternate density (4x5 works great on this puppy) and horizontal scrolling. The dock allows for any number of icons (I'm currently showing 4 + the app drawer button) and transparency. It should work just fine with the themes here.
