Hey, Bennnnn, this showed up in my twitter feed this morning, any truth to it?

SFECorvette Janette Quiroz
@droid_life good friend at Verizon says launch party the 15th in OKC so 17th launch date is highly likely for HTC Thunderbolt

Hey I was going to ask Bennnnnn that!!!:cool:

question for bennn (or anyone else who might know).

Samsung Stealth 4G Has Double The Battery Life Of HTC Thunderbolt? ? Android Phones, Android Tablets, News, Tech, Gadgets And More, Thedroidguy

so we've heard from bennn that the battery issue has been resolved, although other sites are still posting about issues (although from following the tbolt for the past 2 months, i can tell that a lot of them are just REALLY slow to pick up on the news). can bennnn or anybody else who's had their hands on a tbolt tell me how much battery life we can expect on 4g or just on 3g?

I'm a little concerned about this myself. The Stealth has very similar specs to the TBolt and if the battery is lasting twice as long AND coming with Skype working... it could bury the Bolt before it even gets rolling.

Question about the LTE network...as of right now its only in "major" cities...is there anywhere to look other than the list of 20 or so cities and airports listed on the VZW site to see areas that are currently covered with the LTE network? I live about 30mins outside of Boston..would I be able to pick up the signal?

why would so many people ask to shut the thread down? i just dont get it! if people dont like the thread why do they feel the need to sit for hours and read it then get upset and complain about it. is it a lack of self discipline? basically, the only way they can stop reading it, is if the thread gets shut down? oh well, just a little aggrevating.

Totally agree. I'm a let the people speak kind of guy. Friday nights, I hit up all the parties I'm invited to. If I don't like one I go to another. But some of them would be a lot more enjoyable if there weren't a few bullies in the room ruining everyone else's time or trying to turn the party into a riot or something. We're hosting this party and we are responsible for crowd control. Bad analogy but hopefully I make a point that resonates.

Nobody mentioned this, but Verizon posted this on their Facebook page:

"Hey Fans! As a thanks to you, we’re offering an exclusive way to save each Friday! Visit our Facebook page for the first Social Friday this week on 3/11 for a special, web exclusive deal! You won’t want to miss this offer!"

It could be about the Thunderbolt to save some of their PR image... or it could be about the iPad2, in which people would go insane. Or it could be about something completely different. (However, I prefer the first option). Here's to being hopeful!

The thing is, the "twice as long" is not based on fact at all. No one has stated anything about the battery life with the current firmware. All we've heard are rehashed, 2-3 hour battery rumors and 5th-person, friend of friend of family hearsay.

Probably iPad2 (the maxIpad)

VZW is in full-on Apple love right now so anything besides Apple announcements or sales would be shocking.

Go here 4G LTE Network | Verizon Wireless and then type in an address that you know has LTE coverage (perhaps in Boston) and then click the view map link. From there you will be able to move the map around and see where LTE is. The dark red is LTE.

BMX definitely didn't say the network was fine. There weren't "major" issues with it but obviously severe enough to potentially further delay the device.

Also, I don't see how the Samsung phone gets an April release when TB hasn't even hit the street yet. Although, I'm sure the Samsung phone will probably be only slightly delayed assuming VZW can resolve their network issues.
Pandaman did say there were a few "nuggles" but if the Stealth is able to do just fine for an entire day on LTE then they've definitely done the same for the T-Bolt by now.

If the T-Bolt doesn't make the 17th I am positive it will be because of an operations reason (i.e. scrambling to update trainees and ship the devices in time), not a technical (i.e. that the device or network isn't ready).

This should only interest you if you are content with being on 2.2 FOREVER. There is still no official Froyo for the Fascinate, and the Epic's just keeps getting pulled. Think very hard before dropping your hard earned dollars on a Samsung device, at least until they prove they are worthy of those dollars by supporting the people from whom they have already taken money.
You missed the point. I don't want the Stealth. The article however mentions how the Stealth lasts a full day while constantly connected to LTE. Any issues remaining are probably very minor, confirming what Ben^5 and BMX have been stated. This implies that the T-Bolt and the network are pretty much good to go (for the most part).

The thought crossed my mind.... thanks for posting!

Am I the only one that noticed that the Thanks button has moved, its still there but not in the same location, i keep hitting "news tip" when i go to thank someone...

anywho...

ThunderBolt - I was just reading an interesting article on HTCpedia about how Internally, Verizon employees are having a good ole time frustrating the masses about the Tbolt by helping the rumors with spreading fake release dates.

Add March 24 to the list of rumored HTC Thunderbolt release dates

According to their source, the Verizon folks have been getting quite a kick out of each and every new HTC Thunderbolt release date rumor, and some Big Red employees have even helped spread fake dates.

I hope that isn't true because I don't know of any company that would purposely piss off a lot of their paying customers.

nothing wrong with it. i laughed a little too, mostly because everyone on here is up in arms begging for scraps of info for this phone to at least come out by the 17th, then you come along and say you want it at least by june, which would be apocalyptic for most of us here. honestly though, if you're goin to alaska (and especially if you plan on travelling more in the future) get a good nikon or cannon camera. there is little i enjoy more than the memories i have preserved in beautiful pictures from my old pentax 35mm..

:) thank you. lol, yeah my husband was like, well we need to set a date that seems practical and in line with the things going on this year, so we decided that date in june.
but as of getting an actual camera- we have an intova IC12 right now that does 12mp, not too bad, but i totally understand getting an SLR, i really want one, but im thinking with all the other expenses (ie. phones lol) we will have to wait on a way better camera :)
plus my husband is way into sharing our vacation pics on facebook with the fam and friends, and 8mp is way better than 3.5 :D

The employees i know would, especially the punk types with spikey hairdos that think there all that. I ran into quite a few of those types when walking into multiple Verizon stores back in February.
