The EVO is an HTC thing. Calling an LG phone the EVO 3D would be extremely confusing and misleading.
Sprint owns the copyright on EVO, but HTC registers it on the devices they make for the EVO line
EVO is basically just there version of the DROID moniker
Sprint last year even said they had plans to expand on the EVO family with other devices from other manufacturers. its not exclusive to HTC by name
your same argument was brought up in the official sprint forums as well
For example: When a device manufacturer is asked to trademark the name given, they are responsible as part of the agreement with the carrier.
ThunderBolt is Verizon's name for the phone - but HTC registered the name
T-Mobile owns the G brand, but it will have LG register the G2X name
Sprint owns the EVO name, but it will have HTC register the EVO Shift 4G/ EVO 4G / EVO View names (which it has)
if this held true that the EVO3D was made by HTC, wouldn't you think that we would have seen the trademark leaked already since the EVO View was already registered by HTC?
I'm straying off topic, but i'm not leading this argument on past this post.
