dont even waste your energy on BB with their reps or vzw reps. i want to almost also say, dont waste your energy on vzw corporate as it seems even they dont know when the phone is coming out. (eg. Bennnnn himself didn't/doesn't know)
We've got thunder in the Chicago area. Just what VZW was waiting for to announce the TB.
Nevermind, looks like the thunderstorm has passed. VZW blew it again.

Possible(actually anything's possible at this point :'( ). Johnboy over in the other Droid site said the Thunderbolt he's testing required the LTE SIM card to operate at all even though he's in a non-LTE area. Maybe VZW will require a special LTE Data Smartphone Plan(that's tiered) on any LTE device no matter where the buyer's located. AT&T did something similar with it's iPhone Data Plans.
If there is a higher 4G data cost, would you guys pay it or look into a different phone? I'm still not quite sure what I would do. My city is on the list of the next areas to get LTE, but I don't know if I want to pay extra for a service I cannot even currently use. Actually, even if it were in my area, I don't know if I would want to pay extra for it.

if that is the case, and if Bennnnn is reading this, all i have to say is:
Stay away from the tired data (at least for now with the tbolt), stay away - that is all.
there will be many many more people frustrated, AND vzw might end up having those newly ordered stockpiles in the same form they came in! (hope you calculated that!)
now where's Bennnnn? soon he'll give us another 'going to dinner message and disappear until tomorrow.
FYI, Ipad2 was on Verizons website Earlier today...

stockpiling? "we'll make sure we have enough for the demand." yeah, good idea. it's not like anyone else is gonna put out a stunning phone before hand (Atrix) or the public's gonna be aware of future smart phones (dInc2/Bionic/Evo2/X2/Pyramid) with nearly better or comparable specs than the TB and with firm street dates. those dumb bastards.
just grow some balls, VZW, and release the TB. seriously.

WTF Verizon!!!! Another week and still NO announcement on this. Now i'm hear the reason is because of the data plan prices? Are you KIDDING me!! Thats the new excuse of whats holding the phone up? How hard is it to come up with 2 or 3 different prices for data plans prices? One is $10, another is $20 and the third one is $30. WOW that was hard Verizon!!!! It took me 30 seconds to figure that out, release the phone already. At the rate Verizon is going the Incredible 2, the Bionic and the Revolution will be out and NOBODY is gonna want this piece of crap Thunderbolt. Like someone said earlier, I wish Verizon had real competition because if they did I'd be gone. But both AT&T and Print arent that good either.
While many of these hardware/software ideas seem plausible, the whole idea that VZW's iphone contract with Apple stipulated no other smarphone sales within 30 days of the iphone launch seems more likely. I know this has been thrashed around pretty good in the forums, but I can see contract crap like that taking precedent over the stuff we all care about - and VZW not admitting to it.
AC forum, phandroid forum, twitter, FB repeat cycle 10 times per hour from 5am-1am. This is killing me no sleep distracted from work, headache argh. Something please......help.....:-(

i think they meant tiered data pricing in either three of the following options:
10cents/Kb
20cents/mb
$30/gb
average consumer now jumps for joy--"why with those rates, $30 is a steal compared to what i'd pay otherwise. deal."
best marketing strategy. 3 options: 2 of which are ridiculous and bluffs, 1 of which is the more reasonable in comparison to the 2 bluffs.
