Thats my big question, when are we getting netflicks, skype, and google music?

I'm more worried when we can order online, i'm finding it hard to believe to order the same day as shipping it would ship the same day of it being ordered, with so many orders needing to be processed the same day.

I'm still finding it hard to believe that Verizon won't start selling until Thursday
Would be nice if it started this morning around 3am EST/Midnight

I don't see the big thing about Netflix, but then again I rarely view movies on my phone since I have an archos 70 tab. The next thing I'm looking forward to is Skype video chatting which is said to be really close

You know i was in the same boat about not really caring about Netflix... I own a Bluray player and love to buy my movies. But after recently cancelling my cable since I'm hardly home to watch any of it (why pay for what you aren't there to use?), my brother turned me on to Netflix through our XBOX 360. I know its not the same as watching something on your phone, but at any moment in time we can sit down and stream movies (and TV shows), in HD, through the 360, to our TV. It looks great, loads quick, and is super convenient. I have alot of downtime here at the hospital and I would love to stop logging into streaming video sites to watch the latest upload of "The Walking Dead" and instead stream it to the Thunderbolt, in HD, while I sit at my desk (with the phone connected and charging) :p

Thats a huge plus to me.

I am big fan of netflix so I would loved stream media from netflix on my TBOLT when I have down time at work or on my hour lunch.

The only downside is the screensize. I can hear someone complaining about "but my TV is so much bigger or my computer screen is bigger." Yea but you can't lug your TV around or your computer (laptop excluded :p) with you. Its convenience that wins here. Car ride? TBOLT. Bus ride? TBOLT. Airplane? Hell no don't use that you'll jack up the flight instruments and then... :(

Hmmm I can see Netflix coming in handy in those situations but I'm usually in class which I have my laptop and I bartend so no real downtime there lol. Plus I don't want movies draining my battery. To each their own I guess

Actually the ThunderBolt has a more powerful processor, the MSM8655 aka "SCORPION" the fabled 1.2ghz processor that was in development for over 4 years. It has been down clocked to 1ghz, but its capable of running at 1.2ghz, and overclocked much higher. it is NOT the same processor used in the Inspire 4G/Desire HD (MSM8255)

MDM9600 is the LTE Modem

MSM7x30 (MSM7230 MSM7630), MSM8x55 (MSM8255 MSM8655) and QSD8x50A (QSD8250A QSD8650A) are Qualcomm's 2nd gen Snapdragon processors. How fast are they? - Smartphone Benchmarks (SmartBench 2010/Quadrant) Forum

I beg to differ. The only difference is the networks that are supported. One is for CDMA, the other GSM. You'll notice that the specs are identical except that the MSM8655 supports CDMA where the MSM8255 doesn't.

Either way, i'm not arguing... I found conflicting info with those links, I'm not bothering

but I did find an interesting tidbit for those doubtful of the NETFLIX support on the ThunderBolt

The leaked apk file was pulled directly from the LG Revolution, which has the SAME EXACT CHIP. How's that for more confirmation on NETFLIX support? ;)

That would be awesome. I guess that would be another difference. :p

I almost removed the first link simply because wikipedia is usually more accurate about these things than other sites (yeah that can be argued but generally speaking is the case).

Guys,

I needed to take a break from the TB forums before my eyes popped out of their sockets. I asked iamlilysdad to help me out. He did what any moderator would and should have done in a forum. That said, I failed to tell him about the freestyle flow of this thread. So, I apologize for that. It shall and will live on with no restrictions (well be nice), but if you guys do come up with a topic you think would benefit the whole community, please start a new thread. If you see threads that have been started, that you can chime in on, please step into those too. We don't want this thread to take over the whole forum and make it hard for people to find things. Mkay? Oh and once the TB is released this thread will be moved to the lounge, where it will live on until I'm stone cold sober ;)

I can't wait to watch some of the live NCAA Tournament games. Hopefully my boss doesn't notice me staring at my phone nonstop for the next month.

Haha speaking of that, a medical student showed me on CBS (or similar?) website that they had a "boss" button, that if you clicked on it muted the game, and popped up a screen that looked like a desktop with spreadsheets and exchange email opened. lol. Probably not so much for the bolt, but made me chuckle.

You've done a great job babysitting us here in the Thunderbolt Forum,Cory. Maybe after everything settles down here AC will give you a break by modding a less stressful forum, like the SE Forums. :D

tomorrow should be awesome. I am going to try to stay at a friends tomorrow night so my 30 min drive to vzw is only like >15 mins :)

Hello everyone, I'm m00nshake, and I'm a Thunderholic.

I would like to thank Corey, Bennnnn, and Black_Man_X for helping us through this wait. Hopefully, tomorrow we can all get to the trials and tribulations of rooting, modding, and theming this awesome, new device.

My BB is not doing preorders, but I was assured that they hold preorders for their customers to pick_up. I've also ordered another TB on Wirefly for my wife, did so at 3 am during night of pre-release. So I'm hoping for the best.

Eeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkk

You should have sold the BB first... if you could have found a buyer!!!

Doh! Too early in the morning, not enough coffee, sorry about that. I meant that my Best Buy isn't doing appointments for preorders

Can we get one of those for the Android Central Page?
