2 yr contract and waiting for the Thunderbolt to come out. She didn't have a need for a smartphone at the time.

Huh... I thought the Voyager was older than that. Heck I've been holding onto my original Storm since October. I was eligible for upgrade on October 6th, but decided to wait.

ya im keeping my bb storm2 for overseas use as well. too bad the tb isnt global , you pay so much money for a phone it should be global like the droid2 global verizon has. oh well

Remember there were two Voyager models. Towards end of shelf on the original they released a gray model.

Just checked there. If they agree with my assessment of it being in good condition they quoted $39 and even if they knock it down a notch to fair condition the quote is $30. So that's not too bad I guess.

Yea I can get $30 for my pos enV Touch and I have three of those.

1 year contract price is normally about 70 bucks more.. so that price sounds right.

And who doesnt wanna be ready for the next 700 page topic generating superphone.. with LTE-A.;)

just sayin....

Panda

Thanks for the backup Panda .. PS the wife says Thanks again and she can't wait to receive the package!
Uh... hmm... whadaya think? We should hold off to use our New Every 2 for LTE/A? Hahahaha.... :D

Hey Panda, just curious, do you have any info on the time frame for LTE-A? I assume it's a ways out (years?), given that LTE is just starting to roll out across the country. I don't know what is required to go from LTE to LTE-A (infrastructure-wise), so my guess may be way off. Thanks again for all your help!

Just wondering if anyone had any thought about if we will have to put a task killer on the tb, I do on my incredible and seems to help a little

Totally depends on what type and how many apps you actively run. With 2.2 update an going forward most apps are closed out correctly and working more towards better detection to close out when not active. It's just another thing you chalk up to personal preference. I ran one with Incredible but while I wait for TB been using Fascinate and have the app and when I open it all my apps are closed and next to no need for it.

Regarding LTE-A, I think I read somewhere that unlike EVDO Rev A, LTE-A is simply a software upgrade and that's why Verizon is wanting to get LTE nationwide as soon as possible. Like the name connotatively suggests LTE is able to be changed and upgraded with relatively little effort (in comparison to switching from CDMA to LTE anyway). So once Verizon gets LTE nationwide, they will be making a much better profit margin. Now of course they have to make a huge investment up front, but in the long run it's worth it for them.

Which is why I don't understand why AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile are lagging behind regarding LTE.

My Best Buy just called and said I could come and pick up my phone tomorrow morning. He said they got 46 at his location. So I don't think the phone is going to sell out tomorrow if most stores get inventory like this one did. They only had 10 pre-orders and this is in Wichita, Ks.
