There is no way he knew the exact launch date in November. Unless he is Nostradamus-incarnate, that was a shot in the dark and if it does get launched on the 17th, I'd say it was a very lucky shot.

I think the 17th was the original launch date and they tried to get it out earlier like AT&T with the Atrix and it backfired. Leaks don't get leaked unless someone wants it to. It was a gamble on the Verizon PR team and they lost. Although, regardless of why it happened the TB is going to do very well financially for Verizon. They may lose a few customers to their competition or to another phone within Verizon (Which still doesn't hurt them), but nothing compared to the amount of TB's they will sell. I predict it will beat the Iphone launch by miles whenever that happens. I'm still getting one, sitting on my upgrade since Dec 16th with an OG Droid.

As for Bennnnn, I think he is just saying what he hears and that's not his fault. If Verizon makes a change he reports it even though they never came out with a date from the beginning. He's just caught in the middle for trying to do what he thought we all wanted. I say give him a break and let's see what happens on the 8th, 17th, whenever.

On a different note, you mentioned Netflix as well as cloud based services will be released shortly after - Oh, including htcsense.com too which will be sweet! Though my question to you, can you confirm about skype as you did with the other features you mentioned above?

The vzw thunderbolt page removed the skype logo and only carries the Rockband logo (maybe for now). Will we be able to do skype video chat just as the reps were showing at CES (we know that was only a skype demo)?

I can GUARANTEE you that if netflix gets into the cell phone arena, VZW will release tiered pricing at the exact same time. Do you think for a second VZW isn't going to want a slice of the pie?

If you do get locked in at that price what happens at the end of the 2 year contract? Do you maintain your $30 price or when you sign a new contract do you have to change to the new pricing?

I can safely say that, if you get locked into an unlimited plan for 2 years now, and sign a new contract when you are eligible for upgrade, you will be locked into whatever data plan is current at that time (and I am certain Unlimited/$30 will not be an option).

I take that to mean dual core will be released like a week after the bolt...Like the Bionic will be out right after. At this rate, I believe that.

Agreed. The view from an outsider seems to be that if a fly lands on the notebook page the jot the release date on, they feel the need to change it. Now they are going to announce on one "holiday" and release on another? This will change. By Monday.

We really need a date in April now! Usually we have at least 3 dates to look forward to be disappointed on!

It was prob set for the 10th until the announcement of the ipad2. So it got pushed back to the 17th. Whats next Verizon are u gonna remember its St. Patricks day and push it back again?
