There's a storm brewing...

Somehow I doubt the numbers Verizon's thinking are 10,20,30. ;)
Probably at least double those numbers, but don't forget they have to work in their "gotcha pricing" for overage. Where the price for exceeding tier one will cost more than if you had paid for tier 2 in the first place.
Tier 1 - 0-2 GB $35
Tier 2 - 2-4 GB $60

That way, after you've been burned once and paid $70 for overages you opt for the more expensive plan which you never again come close to exceeding....kind of like the 1400 minutes a month I now have.

just picked up a best buy circular dated march 6th showing 299 again. i guess this isn't news but i've been hoping that i wouldn't have to deal with the extra $50 for the phone AND paying more for data. along with the delays, i'm starting to seriously doubt whether this phone is worth it anymore.

Wait to see what VZW's price is before you jump ship. There's nothing that says you have to purchase from BB.

Personally, I use wifi for the most part and tiered data pricing will probably save me money, so I'm interested to see what they come up with. If you are someone who is constantly using VZW's data network then I could see that being a major issue.

In the end, we'll just have to wait and see how things shake out.

At this point we should start blaming HTC and NOT Verizon. I say that because they should have put their foot down weeks ago and made Verizon say something publically about the phone. Apple and Steve Jobs have told Verizon how they are gonna sell their products and Verizon has NO choice and agreees with them.

... the whole idea that VZW's iphone contract with Apple stipulated no other smarphone sales within 30 days of the iphone launch seems more likely.

I'd say that's next to impossible. An agreement like that would have been agreed to well before the ipoop launch -- and if so Verizon would have never made TB commercials with February blasted in them.

This storm is going to turn into a typhoon if Verizon doesn't hurry and announce something.

I'm in no hurry to get another phone just been wanting the Thunderbolt nothing else has caught my eye.

If I was in HTC's shoes I would be giving Verizon hell for being so mum on the Thunderbolt. I'm sure HTC paid a pretty nice royalty to be branded as the networks first LTE phone and to be pushed aside for the iCrap's grand reveal and launch must be getting under their skin.

Well Verizon gave me more than enough time to let the excitement and my impulsive decision to get the Thunderbolt die down. After realizing that in my current situation it would be better to get a cheaper device for now, I got myself an Incredible yesterday on a one year and will just get the Thunderbolt in 10 months once the price drops down and the bugs get ironed out.

I am painfully anticipating the new phone too. But, realistically, I do not see "this storm" turning into a typhoon because there is no storm.

Has anyone seen a mention of the Thunderbolt release delays outside of forums like this? Has anyone seen it mentioned in a news article from an actual, accredited news source? --not an online source rehashing rumors and anger from another blog, Verizon employee, or "trusted" source.

I have been strongly considering the same thing! 1 year for $119 minus my NE2 discount then in 10 months see whats available.

I had $400 set aside to buy the phone and any misc items for it. Now that its been "delayed" again I'm just gonna get the Incredible for free and spend the money on something else. Thanks Verizon for helping me save $400.

Now if its true about the device's being shipped then why dont they show up in Verizons System at the Corporate Stores? Since I was just at a Corp Store and they dont have it in the system and they are just as baffled as we are.

Also, they asked the HTC rep that was there the other day and no clue....

Exactly! RT @ASacco: Ummm. "end of Q1" could mean late March....or early April. Just sayin'.

Chrisy we stopped thinking weeks ago. So sure the 10th sounds good for now until that days passes too! ;)
