There's a storm brewing...

I thought I heard somewhere that VZW got rid of NE2? And didn't they also get rid of the main line being able to early upgrade after only one year? I really want this phone, but won't be able to upgrade until October. Unless I can still do the early upgrade...??

They got rid of them, but they will allow you to use it one last time.

Not to get anyone's hopes up but... (and take it with a grain of salt but its quite possible it happened, this is a good sign if its true)

Hadn't heard that. Interesting. RT @crotana best buy had thunderbolts atleast over here in wa they sold 1 then pulled it back lol

I don't find that one bit hard to do since its not street dated in the system anymore since its still set for Feb 21st, my guess is to not add fuel to fire for speculation and release date rumors, so instead of changing it for an inevitable leak, they left it as is, plus they don't have to keep changing it every time it gets delayed :P

and not too long before that tweet:

#Thunderbolt devices are not yet in Verizon's "system" due to processing time. The first-line TBs are on their way. March 10 is the date.

Again, this is highly possible given that it takes systems time to update after a shipment is processed (especially if its millions of units)

for example, when we order something, we usually don't get tracking info until a day or so after but we get the tracking number the same day of the shipment being sent. Think about that

Ahhhh Best Buy....they are now even screwing up in rumors and made up stuff!

Best Buy has to be so extremely POed about all this! The Verizon CEO owes the Best Buy CEO soemthing like a free all expenses paid vacation on his private island!

Best Buy is like the sort of funny comic relief character in an action adventure movie.

I was just in Verizon store tonight and the Reps have no Idea...they even pointed out that its not in there system yet. So they know when new phones are coming and there is no Thunderbolt.

Verizon might have them at a main Distribution Center and once they are ready for shipment they will then update the Computers for the Stores. But as of tonight at 5PM EST Nothing.

Sigh, I'm ready for a new phone..and tired of waiting. But nothing else to do

They will let you use both one last time, or just the NE2?

Sorry for getting off topic, but if I can use the early upgrade one more time, I'm so getting this phone when/if it's every released!! But my hopes aren't up to be able to early upgrade, that just seems too good to be true. I'll most likely be stuck with my eris (ugh) for another 7 months :'(

I don't know if you can use a NE2 discount when using an early upgrade? But whichever once you choose, you should be able to do it one last time. That's what I was told by multiple reps. My fiancee's annual upgrade isn't till June and the csr we spoke to saw it in the system and said that would be her last one.

Ok, thank you for your help!

Sign into VZW.com and click on the upgrade link on the left. It will either say upgrade at full price or upgrade at a discounted price. My wife's acct is qualified for an annual upgrade and it shows phones at the discounted price.

late again! lol its been like that since last night/this morning :p

Well excuse meeeeee princess

i don't feel like reading an entire thread that nearly has non-topic related posts in it.

I found it interesting that they added all that info all of a sudden with no announcements yet, seems to me there preparing for the launch announcement.

No need to get defensive peaches. I was just letting you know before someone less concerned with being nice decided to. Chill out.

On that page one of the headings is "The Wait is Over" ... how ironic!!

is it just me or is everyone planning to use that tag line for there LTE phones?

Motorola is using "the end of waiting" tag line

but of course, HTC could be using that as a hint to fans that they know we've been anxiously waiting, and thought they would chime in indirectly.

They are referring to fast loading time. But for us "wait" means this agonizing wait for the launch.
