There's a storm brewing...

It also lends a little credence to the original March 17th date.

Anything that doesn't help the Thunderbolts "case" is just going to continue to upset everyone here, regardless of the informations context. Context went out the window a LONG time ago here...

Agreed. I think I was upset by the 2/14 delay but every delay after that was no big deal. I don't get agitated about dates any more because as my momma told me "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."

Oh... and beyond that... I got 99 problems and a Bolt Ain't one.

At what point does the delay outpace the life cycle of the technology? i.e. At what point in 2011 are ThunderBolt specs officially out-dated?

to be really honest, that point was when they announced the phone at CES! at this point in time the phone is already past its prime. i dont mean this to be negative or start a flame war, it is just so. the longer this phone sits the more useless it is to die hard tech fans. this whole fisco has left such a bad taste in my mouth, i cant even take it anymore. HTC has to be aware that their sales numbers are declining before the phone has even come out. what a fiasco.

Wait I think I got it figured out...

So the slogan is: "It's not your dream phone, it's the one after that"

So before St. Patrick's day, you will dream about a phone. But this phone is not your dream phone, it's the one after that.

So all you have to do is drink so much alcohol on St. Patrick's day that you go into a coma and experience death. Then you will finally achieve Nirvana like the Buddhists, and the Thunderbolt will be all yours for all eternity.

This is the only way people.

Hey, someone else with a life, sweet! ;)

People need to look at the bigger picture here: it's a phone, no one needs it, and no one will die without it. It'll be released when it's released; no one will die if it never gets released. Get over it and wait like everyone else.

I wouldn't go that far... I'm still very excited about it and don't particularly subscribe to the "it's just a phone" argument... but I think people generally think that if you care about the release date or the fact that VZW has delayed and delayed that some how you're a hysterical person.

I am very enthusiastic about this device but don't get hysterical when a date is missed, like many of the very passionate posters on this forum.

Congratulations on your indifference. However, you've been reading and then posted in a thread, and frankly an entire forum, dedicated to discussion about the merits of the phone including -- its release date. Discussion, all points agreeing with or oppossing one another, *is* the point.

I actually posted this weeks back in another thread, but I suppose it works here as well:

It's ironic, really: It's because of devices like the Thunderbolt that we as a generation no longer have any patience

We're so used to having everything at our fingertips at an instant - information, entertainment, friendships, email, work... it's all right there whenever we want. Our grandparents used to have to wait a week for a response to a message through the mail. As for us, if someone doesn't respond to our latest Facebook post within 5 minutes we begin to question "Where the hell IS everybody??" And you can't look me in the face and tell me that the last time you were expecting a package to arrive didn't feel like an eternity, nomsayin'?

Our devices that enabled to no longer have to be patient have now virtually stripped us of the ability to be patient anymore at all!

Yet we wait...

I agree, and I too am quite excited for it, but it really is just a phone. If it never gets released, we'll all move on to something else. I'd have loved for the phone to be released on the 14th, or the 24th, or 28th or ... well, you get the idea, but it wasn't and life goes on without it.

Again, don't misunderstand, I'd be very bummed too if that were to happen or if it gets delayed again after March 17th, but it's just not worth getting all worked up about.

The more I read about the tbolt and it's lighting fast speed (pun intended) on my og droid, the more I get frustersted with how slow my current phone is. The 256mb of ram on the droid is far to little and the 768mb on the tbolt is what makes the phone attractive to me. I just want to return to my home screen and not have to wait 15 seconds for it to load!

The easiest target for my anger is verizon management and their inability to get this phone across the finish line. But at the end on the day it is just a phone and vzw can do whatever they want.

If the wait is much closer to April, I may just decide to get the bionic. By the time the 17th rolls around, I'll be to the point of "Well, I've waited a month and a half, what's another month?". I'm not sure if the attraction of dual core can overcome my attraction to HTC Sense, but if we go much further into the spring, this phone will definitely have much stiffer competition than the iPhone. If there were another carrier comparable to VZW, I'd likely switch, but it seems they have us by the short hairs...

Agreed! Just as we have every right to pick an chose a phone that may or may not be out soon, you have the choose not to post or read this thread/forum... If the subject is not to your liking fine... trust me browsed though tons of threads before posting just because i do not like the general idea in that conversation.

I am releasing my frustration on the VZW, HTC and BB Facebook pages! Join the revolution (no pun intended... or was it?)

If you haven't already gotten into this, but want your OG to fly... This will make your phone like a brand new one...

I completely agree with you, it's just crazy to come whining and crying because the phone was delayed from a date that had never been official to begin with; that was my first point. edit: If they had announced for the phone to be released on the 14th, 24th, 28th etc, then yeah I'd join in on the "wtf Verizon" bandwagon.

I understand using the forum as an outlet for the frustration as it's populated with others with the same frustrations, that doesn't make it any less crazy though :p

You're absolutely right, I've been reading and following along as well, but I've not been bashing Verizon or posting on their Facebook (I don't even have a Facebook account!). That's not to say that I think they're doing a fine job, because I think they are doing an awful job with the release.

Again, I ask:

Yes, we know there has not been an "official press release". Each time I've heard someone attempt this arguement (at least 100x in this thread alone), they never mention the official Thunderbolt commercial that said "febrero" at the end? Why is that?

Again, I ask:

also, even though they didn't issue "AN OFFICIAL RELEASE" it makes no sense to advertise all over TV and the web, only to take the ads down, only to have the manufacturer issue ads, and then hide behind "theres been no official release date".

Again, I ask:

I answered, but I'll answer again. I had never seen the Spanish version; and I assume most others hadn't either. There is no good answer for it though, things slip by, stuff happens, plans change. Pretty much anyone who works in a corporate environment should be aware of this.

I work in Staples data centers and things change on an hourly basis here, that's just how it is. Not to say that it's the "right" way to do things, but that's how it happens.

I don't fault you for not seeing the commercial -- it wasn't available very long online and I don't know if there are any copies out there. However, when it was up, it was tangible proof that this device has been delayed, and ALOT of people are choosing to deny that fact and defend Verizon as if there was no customer facing dealy. It was more than internal, thus it does concern us.
