Where is best place to get the Thunderbolt BestBuy or Verizon? Any suggestions?
my experience with best buy has been bad and the verizon store near me has really nice reps so i am doing verizon.

Totally up to you... BestBuy has the new buyback... Verizon stores have the reps to work with if you have any issues.

Don't get caught up in the iPad 2 release. It will not affect Verizon from releasing a phone around the same time. Releasing a tablet will not interfere with them releasing a phone. They know this phone has been pushed back long enough and when its ready to go... it will be released.

If you are paying full retail go to Verizon. Bestbuy marks there phones up about an extra $100 for full price.

I was at a local BB store to dispute some charges on my bill and after the problem was solved I started chatting with this friendly Rep who had a Fascinate and he also had been waiting for the Bolt and he also had no idea about the launch except the rumors on the internet.
He also said when he went for TB training they did not get to hold the actual device. The were just shown a video. He said there had been battery problems.
He however told me Manchester, NH area where I work will get LTE coverage some time in summer and was expecting our hometown area to get it by the end of the year. That was much sooner than what I expected.
No news that we have been waiting for but I just thought I should share my experience.

Do you know if the ThunderBolt will be available with a one year contract option at Verizon stores? There has been talk that Verizon was doing away with one year contracts, though that may just be fueled by Best Buy's decision to only do two year contracts. So any clarity you can provide would be appreciated.

If this phone does come out on the 17th, that will upset me greatly. Here is how my day will go: get up at the asscrack of dawn to go get the phone. Start drinking soon after because im Irish and it is law that I must be intoxicated by Noon on St. Patrick's Day (HEY! I DONT WRITE THE RULES!). Fall down by 9pm, break nice new phone. Wake up on the 18th and cry.

quick question.....if i preordered the thunderbolt on the 13th at a bestbuy in Maryland can i pick it up at a different best buy on the 17th (i'll be in LA) or does it have to be the same store?

Talk to your local BB and see if they can port your preorder to the LA store but you may end up at the bottom of the queue.
