There's a storm brewing...

The only problem with Sprint is the fact that they have no coverage in my area. I'm stuck with Verizon or AT&T no matter what the price is.

My wife's uncle has the EVO and he always gets one bar of normal signal at most in our house and no WiMax signal. Meanwhile, we get 3-4 bars of Verizon at any time and our house is dead center of a big LTE signal.

Hi from across the state line in KCK area! Good question. I know Wichita, of all places, is supposed to get LTE before us. For me getting the phone before LTE is not a bad thing because all of the kinks will be worked out before we get it, but I do not want to pay for it when I cannot use it.

Thats exactly what I'm sayin' and Wichita...REALLY! Wow..that some BS if they get 4G before us because they are not even to our caliber. You they may as well give it Stillwell and Ottawa before the KC Metro then!

Nobody mentioned this, but Verizon posted this on their Facebook page:

"Hey Fans! As a thanks to you, we?re offering an exclusive way to save each Friday! Visit our Facebook page for the first Social Friday this week on 3/11 for a special, web exclusive deal! You won?t want to miss this offer!"

It could be about the Thunderbolt to save some of their PR image... or it could be about the iPad2, in which people would go insane. Or it could be about something completely different. (However, I prefer the first option). Here's to being hopeful!

I highly doubt these deals won't have anything to do with the Thunderbolt or the iPad2. These deals are going to be about old phones. Just like what they did for the first week of February. Did anybody check those deals out? I did and they sucked.

yup, my parents switched over to sprint after years being at verizon because sprint was cheaper :( now i dont have free min talking to them, and they have such bad reception...just to talk to anyone, they have to go outside:confused:

dont know if in your area verizon has friends in family. which i have in my plan and can call any number from any carrier or landline as not a 800# for free.. no additional chareges... believe you have to have a certain plan ithink minmum 1400 min plan...u can add 10 numbers total which helps a lot on your talk time....

No Drama on my end...

I am planning for the 17th...this seems reasonable. If it is later than that...I am moving to "PAUSE"

If I have enough self control (and that is a big IF) I am going to wait a week or two to determine the following:
1. Is the phone ready to rock and roll or was it launched with some issues
2. When my contract comes up can I make a reasonable decision that the thunderbolt will be my best bet or will another HTC phone be a better bet (not At&T so much... but the other carriers are pretty good where i live)?...

Yeah, that was brought up before. I'm very dubious. It sounds like it was written by a high-schooler. I wouldn't trust it.

Not to mention it was from a Verizon rep... I don't really have much faith in them when it comes to release dates. The last rep I talked to told me it would be out on February 17.

Unless there is some major change, (and I mean MAJOR) I think it will be the 17th as well. I originally said the 10th, but that was before the crApple iPad was announced. Hopefully at this time next week, we will be basking in the new announcement glow.

Question about the LTE network...as of right now its only in "major" cities...is there anywhere to look other than the list of 20 or so cities and airports listed on the VZW site to see areas that are currently covered with the LTE network? I live about 30mins outside of Boston..would I be able to pick up the signal?

Check verizon's coverage map and select "4G data" or something like that.

Do they sell the S.A. Brick Red in Boston this time of the year? Good Lord that is good!
Or is it only in the summer? I love Boston....not as big of a fan as their sports teams cause I am Cleveland fan...and we stink in everything!

I don't drink SA so I don't know much about Brick Red. I guess it is year round. But I could be wrong.

I'll be in Boston the weekend after TB launch to test LTE. LTE is not making its appearance in my neck of the woods until later this year (or even later).

I want to believe you Bennnnn :)

the truth is out there...

Shoulda posted 867-5309...

somebody did right after the op put the actual verizon rep's phone number on the thread

Probably iPad2 (the maxIpad)

its super absorbent!

:) thank you. lol, yeah my husband was like, well we need to set a date that seems practical and in line with the things going on this year, so we decided that date in june.
but as of getting an actual camera- we have an intova IC12 right now that does 12mp, not too bad, but i totally understand getting an SLR, i really want one, but im thinking with all the other expenses (ie. phones lol) we will have to wait on a way better camera :)
plus my husband is way into sharing our vacation pics on facebook with the fam and friends, and 8mp is way better than 3.5 :D

gotcha- if thats the case you might want to have an extra micro sd card just in case your phone is also full of video and music and games so you don't run out of space for pics.

Yes, when I refer to policy changes I do in fact mean 4G LTE pricing.

I knew unlimited 4G grandfather plan was too good to be true. Is the 4G pricing tier going to change the pricing of 3G too? If thats the case, I'm going out and getting an incredible with unlimited data right now...

I highly doubt these deals won't have anything to do with the Thunderbolt or the iPad2. These deals are going to be about old phones. Just like what they did for the first week of February. Did anybody check those deals out? I did and they sucked.

considering you can get a DInc or DX for (less than) half of what the TB will be, they're pretty attractive deals. Plus, how much am I really going to face chat? Especially when I am trying to stay under a data cap...

Now I'm all caught up on the days news.

I'm a beer-drinker in the Boston area and I've never even heard of that brew, much less seen it, lol. I Googled it to confirm it's existence though, ha ha. Apparently, it's a rare, specialty brew that's only available on tap, which explains why I've never seen it, as I don't go out to bars very often.

On topic (kind of), how much do you think I'd have to slip a VZW employee to get them to move my NE2 upgrade date up, so I can get the TB upon release? $50? $100? :p

The point was not the method, it was the logic. Faster speeds chew through data much faster (duh). Netflix, Google Cloud services, etc. are great, but they'll be burning data faster than we're used to. Capped data is going to be a major problem with LTE, even for normal users.
