The 21st kind of makes sense; it will give them a week from the next possible day of an announcement (the 14th). Also, another weekend to do stuff with the network... but I have no idea what the heck is going on, so don't put any trust in me!
This will make so much money when the bolt is released.
Well look at it like this, with the nav app and showcase app on the market this means they are prepairing for a release. They've already started training for it too, so they've had more than enough time to get ready for the launch. The bolt is ready to go. Why wouldn't the 17th be the date?
Honestly, I think it has to do with marketing and publicity. They haven't set up a pre-order, and I don't think they would release the phone without a week of advertising first. This is their first 4G phone, and other companies have been throwing 4G around for months now, with a few phones on each carrier, excluding Verizon. Verizon is going to appeal to the average consumer and make a big deal about their four gees.
Verizon has screwed the pooch so badly on this phone that I may be looking at other phones that are set to be launched soon. I don't think I would go with a Samsung because of their track record as of late with the Galaxy S phones going without updates, but I may take a harder look at the LG Revolution. This entire Tbolt launch has been a total clustermuck.

Hey guys
Sorry, I've been SUPER busy today dealing with the iPad 2 and its workings. It's pretty sleek, but I definitely prefer the Xoom. Haven't had much time to get on here today let alone even eat lunch so I will try and answer questions tonight if I have spare time; if not then tomorrow. I see I have quite a bit of catching up to do... Don't have any updates regarding the Thunderbolt as of now because I haven't even left my desk today. Regarding the 21st which I saw on BGR: I haven't heard that date mentioned, but as well all know, things tend to change and it could be a possibility (I hope not), so I'll look into that for you guys.
Have a good day and I will (hopefully) be back with you guys tonight!

Rule the air.
Guys, relax, screw the 21st date for a minute.
Verizon HTC Thunderbolt Release Date on March 21, Says Facebook Page
This is what BGR was referring to when they said "HTC Facebook page briefly showed a 21st date before it was pulled."
1) That page has been inaccurate more times than not. Most people believe it is a troll account or simply not worth listening to since it isn't coming from a VZW or HTC source.
2) The article in the link was posted on the 23rd. That news is very outdated compared to the more recently released statements by Ben^5 and black_man_x. The 17th overrides that earlier date because it is newer information.
Until Ben^5 and/or Pandaman state otherwise, we are getting this device Thursday. 9AM most likely; I am going to call in late to work.
