So a related/non related question about the thunderbolt:
I know that with tethering you can root and use wireless tethering without paying for the $20 tethering plan. Hypotheticaly on 4g, do you think they will be able to track it easier? I know I read on 3g they could, but didn't...
(Sorry if that doesn't make sense?) Not that I would do that, just making conversation while we wait for Ben^5

Considering they use a SIM card, i can't say for sure if thats possible but judging by the way MetroPCS can charge based on what type of usage you do (ie: youtube, video streaming, music streaming, tethering etc) I would have to say they must know. My guess is LTE broadcasts info back to the towers rather than just a connection to the phone.

but if it still uses the EPST to connect to the 4G network like 3G, there will be ways to get around tethering

Android notifies you both with the notification led and the statusbar, you get a notification there via an icon, but before that, a brief message preview shows up on the statusbar of what the message is. AND lets not forget "DROIIIIID" (every android owner should use this as there notification)

yup. The OG Droid I had and the Fascinate I have now alert me perfectly fine for gmail and corporate email (don't even have to be synced to that overpriced thing called BES).

That's the big deal breaker for me with BGR. We haven't heard from either of our 'sources' as it were, so I highly doubt BGR. If the date were to change like this, I imagine Ben5 would find a way to send us the info, even from work.

lol. probably wifi unless you have the AT&T or Verizon plans. And the browser on Android and iOS are both webkit based so the browsing experience is pretty much the same except you get Flash on Android (well unless you have an unrooted Fascinate). And you're not connected to that needless piece of bloat they call itunes.

anywho, if you think about an iPhone, consider the fact its harder to type on a 3.5 inch screen than it would be to type on a 4.3" SCLD on the ThunderBolt

also, you can "speak" what you want to type by using the advanced voice recognition via holding the search button down

or when you want to type something, press the search button and speak what you want it to type

Correct me if I'm wrong, but BGR is pretty much always dead on with dates and insider info. It's what he did for a living. Again, I know he botched the 24th, but bennnnn could botch the 17th. I beleive them both, just think it's verzion big wigs changing plans or finding problems last minute.
Bennnn and BMX stories seem to jive, but let's not also forget that bennn has stated they are busting their tails to get it out by 17th. Even BMX echoed this. If it's down to the wire,,,,could now be easily have been pushed to the 21st. Love to hear your thoughts. Where is bennnn???????? Need an update!

I agree. Until we hear something from either BMX or Bennnnn or until the 17th comes and goes without the phone, I'll still believe the 17th.

Especially since it seems they've been pulling every thursday out of a hat since its first delay of the Feb 14th release date.

its quite possible since they even considered the 14th (which was a monday) that they may still give a monday a chance....

like when i came on today, I saw the news of the 21st date, I was about to freaking flip, then i saw the news about the SIM card ID's being required by the end of the day to activate all in-store demo phones. then the release of the demo app to showcase the phones in store (which Verizon admitted when it put on the description "DO NOT DOWNLOAD, this is for instore use of demo phones only by Verizon retail stores"

So I still think the 17th is a good date, i guess we'll find out for sure saturday, like last week when we found it was delayed again till the 17th.... ick....

you talking about that system for ordering the iPhone on the Verizon site?

I think thats for the iphone only so Apple/Verizon can talk to each others servers.

i'll do a little research to find out though

edit: nope, that slow ordering system seems to be gone now, it must have gotten too many complaints or order problems

Ok. I'm using an iPad to post this. Makes me consider an iPhone! What's the latest on this release date.

I got tired of waiting and replaced my broken dinc with a iphone4. Really like it except 3 things:
1. Google maps is pitiful compared to android
2. Lack of voice command/ speech to text integration
3. No auto text wrapping when resizing text in a browser. I have no idea why apple doesn't do this but they should. Htc's browsers are excellent at it.

The things I like are:
The build quality, first rate and far better than my oh droid and dinc ever were
The screen is phenomenal
FaceTime and skype video are great to use and skype works well over 3g

I bought mine flat out at apple so i have 30 days to return it without a restocking fee which will be 3/24. You might want To try it and see if you like it while you wait for the bolt, which is what I did. I'll be buying annular 2 tomorrow though to keep.
