There's a storm brewing...

So to pass the time since Bennnnn is tied up with the iPad launch today I responded to VZW's twitter accounts and asked them "If I buy an iPad can I also get the release date for the Thunderbolt?"

Any chances of a response? Probably the same as our chances of getting more information today on a launch.
 
I look at it differently. They already announced the phone at CES. They've already been advertising on TV, Magazines, etc. At this point, lots of people are aware of the phone and the hype. They won't need seven days of extra hype once they announce the release date. It's 2011, information spreads like wildfire now. They don't need a full week.

They usually take pre-orders for high profile phones which would require them to announce it about a week before the launch so those that pre-order will get it the same day as the launch. However, given all the delays and anger on the internet, I can see them not doing pre-orders just to get this thing out next week and put it behind them.

I doubt there will be any news today with the Ipad2 coming out. It'll be another long weekend boys and girls.
 
Also, I live in Central CT. Five Guys is the best of the fast food burger places in all of New England, hands down. Just never, ever get the large fries. No need to. You order the small and they'll still fill your bag. We have one in Enfield and its hard not to stop by when I'm driving to Springfield MA. Carry on.

Enough. Find a burger forum then.

Since we have been seeing all those "bring the spring fever ... to the march madness" ads all over the internet, including Android Central, I am wondering will they commit another ad faux pas (a la february best buy ads) by postponing the launch into April or later? Will that not be a very bad press for a phone that was supposed to be the carrier's flagship 4G phone?
 
So I go into the Verizon store today because I need to buy a new charger for my punk a$$ BB Storm2 and at the end of that transaction I ask if they have a TB for me to play with. I ask this because I don't see any TB advertisements anywhere in there, as opposed to Best Buy who has quite of bit of advertising including a dummy phone. So she says they don't have one for me to play with. I said, "you know you have a whole android community out there who is beyond disgusted with Verizon right now." She acknowledges our frustration..and mentions that she sees I'm eligible for upgrade. I tell her don't remind me!! I further explained that whenever VZW gets off its butt and releases this phone there's now way I'd buy it from them, that I'm going to BB instead because at least they seem interested in selling me the phone. Then she starts trying to make excuses for them and saying that we should want the phone to work properly and I told her we totally get that and yes we do want the phone to work properly, our problem is the deafening silence, the fact we don't know if we will have the phone this month, next month or the end of frickin' June for goodness sake!!! I mean seriously, I told her if I were her I'd be lookin' for another gig because after this refusal to care about this segment of your customer base AND the fact that Best Buy offers the Buy Back program no intelligent person would buy a phone directly from them anyway and for job security alone she should start lookin' into Best Buys and Nebraska Furniture Marts benefits and consider applying for employment with them because Verizon SUCKS!! She was polite but if Verizon didn't have the best network I really would switch to another carrier but their network is the best but that said I will never purchase another phone directly through them because this not knowing...UNACCEPTABLE!!!! -end of rant- :'(:mad::mad::mad:

I never considered the Pre-Order aspect to it. That's a good point. I can understand delaying if they do want to go that route.
 
Oh how we grip onto every bit of news in hopes for our glorious phones!

If vzw comes out with a release date will we still believe them? I've gotten soo cynical here.

Honestly, what was she supposed to do? If you feel the need to tear someone apart, send a letter to the CEO of Verizon, or post on their Twitter feed, but this poor lady can do no more to make this phone drop than you or I can.
