Like I said 17th is good to go for now. To my knowledge it has (finally) passed through Verizons testing phase and all issues should be worked out by now so now ball's in HTC's court for the finalization for future updates and what not. Probably why there was the tweet yesterday. Can't really get more official than that.

IMHO this is what has delayed things. How best to squeeze more $$ out of every monthly bill from their customers. 1990's thinking for a 2011 phone.

Big drum roll... I think a lot of folks' decision whether or not to buy this phone (or use this carrier) hinges on the answer to this question.
is tiered going to be just for 4g or are we looking at a complete data plan restructure? if there isn't going to be anymore unlimited, i'd like to go ahead and get a 3g phone. thanks, bennnnn
Well if it's still the 17th then I would think it is almost a for sure thing, I mean we are only 5 days away from the 17th. But it would have to be announced before that. So......
To be completely honest, I'm not afraid of the tier. I think they will want to remain competitive with ATT and Sprint. I'm thinking we might see something like this:
$25 for 2(or2.5) GB
$35 for 5GB
$45 for 8GB
This accomplishes a few things. It saves a LOT of us money. I use 2-2.5GB a month.
It gets them an extra $5 a month for their "unlimited" plan (which has a 5GB soft cap)
It gets them $15 more a month for "heavy" users who are paying $30 now and quite often go over 5GB.

I'm not going to answer questions on tiered pricing because I'm not 100% certain of which ones will be used. We've created price models from unlimited 4G to heavily tiered, so before we all start speculating, it's best to just wait till you hear from Verizon directly. Ultimately its the CFO's decision.
I guess here's the main question...in your opinion by the way the talks are going, are we going to need to pay a little visit to this CFO and throw him a blanket party? J/K...but seriously...soap in a sock...
Fair enough. Thanks. I'm going to lean towards the Unlimited to fairly tiered... I don't think they're going to slap us with $50 for 3GB, thus not only turning us away, but turning those anticipating the Bionic or Revolution away to other carriers also.
MT4G is a great phone, it's fast, has newer snapdragon processor, good memory, cm7 flies on it. Problem is poor quality control in manufacturing, some phones have off center FFC, light leaks around the buttons, washed out screen display, creaky buttons, etc. After swapping out mine six times, I gave up on getting a perfect one.
The TB is like an EVO but with the guts of the MT4G which is why it's the phone I'm waiting for
