Things you don't like about LGV10? :(

Love this phone. Best phone I think I've ever had. But.......that weird time display format on the lock screen. If I could change that, I'd be happy!

Yes! If there's a way to change that stacked digital clock I'd be happier too.

For those having this issue are you using the stock LG launcher?

I use Nova Launcher but this was there before I installed Nova. Just to confirm, I turned off Nova and went back to the default launcher and the lock screen clock is still in the weird format.

And here is the answer I think. Maybe others could verify if it works the same on their phone. The clock format seems to be tied for some odd reason to lock screen notifications. I have lock screen notifications set to off or none and I have the unconventionally formatted 3 line clock. If I turn on all notifications on the lock screen, or tick "hide sensitive notifications", I then get a normal clock.

So for those of us that turn off the notifications on their lock screens, LG has for some reason decided to mess up our clock. Weird.

on edit: I was thinking if this is maybe an Android 5.1 issue rather than an LG problem? I checked on our Note3 running 5.0 and the clock does change slightly on the lock screen there too depending on whether or not notifications are enabled. But in the case of the Note3 running 5.0, the different clocks are both variations of a single line conventional format, not the strange stacked version.

I show all notifications, and I have the large annoying clock.

Please verify, do you mean specifically the stacked version. Like this:
PM
11
06

Because I have a large clock also when I show all notifications, but it is conventional, not stacked.

It is the stacked version I do not like, the size is less important to me. The stacked version can be hard to quickly decipher. For example the above looks to me at first glance like it is saying it is the afternoon of Nov 6th. That is just the way my brain sees it at first. Then with a second effort, I realize it is showing the time in an odd format. I suppose I will get used to it, but I would prefer to have a clock that is formatted like all the other digital clocks I come in contact with.

Nope. That doesn't work either. Tried all combinations and still shows the stacked clock.

Crazy how some people have it and some don't!

Yes it is odd how it seems to be different for some people. Since I posted a couple of hours ago I have found other forums with people saying they see exactly what I have. Not just on V10's though so it seems it is an Android issue. Again what I see on my V10 and what I found people on other sites saying is this:

With lock screen notifications set to "hide all notifications" we have the unconventionally formatted 3 line clock. If notifications on the lock screen are set to "Show all notifications", or "hide sensitive only", then a normal clock is displayed.

1) Second display too dim when main display is off to be of any use
2) Hate the "copy drawer" that slides out any time you copy anything or use Lastpass
3) Speaker is horrible
4) Some pages seem to take forever to completely render in Chrome. Same pages were fine in Chrome on my Note 4.
5) Fingerprint scanner is a bit too slow, and I hate how you have to press the button and continue holding your finger there for a bit to unlock the device.

My 2nd display is pretty dim also but I do not ever have any trouble seeing it. I also have zero of the light leak that some talk about from the 2nd display. I wonder if there is some variability in the quality of this new 2nd display?

I was going to say I did not know what the copy drawer was you are referring to. But then I just did a copy and it popped out briefly. Does not bother me but it slides in and out so fast, I wonder what its purpose is?

I have noticed the speaker too. At first I thought it was just on some calls but after watching some videos, etc. it definitely is not as good as the speaker on my Note3.

I love the copy drawer. It keeps track of your last few copies so that you can past them back later. Very helpful if you want to copy and past more than one thing.

The old way was copy one switch apps paste one switch apps copy 2 switch apps paste 2 and so on.
Now you copy 1 copy 2 copy 3, switch apps, paste 1 paste 2 paste 3.

So how do you use it to do that. I have not seen it available except for a brief second each time you copy something. To be able to use it as you describe would indeed be nice.

Just copy the way you normally do. Later, when you want to paste, you press and hold to get the paste message up. Next to paste, it will say "clip tray". Click on that and you will see your last ten copies.

I'm not sure if this is a problem or not but mine is always running warm or hot. Right now it's sitting on my desk and is warm to the touch. If I actually do anything like bluetooth transfer or gaming it gets pretty hot. Wondering if I should take it back to the store and ask about it.

My 2 gripes:

- The Auto-Brightness is way too aggressive in darkness. When in a dark environment, the Auto-Brightness brings it down to pretty much 0% making it almost unreadable. This is an LG thing, as the G4 had the same issue and was widely known. The solution many of those folks had was to install Lux as a 3rd party auto-brightness controller.

- The darn fingerprint scanner when a case is on it. Right now I just have one slim/hard cover case that has a huge opening for the volume and power buttons so I know that nothing is blocking it. I've tried re-loading my prints after the case was put in, but it still only works like 20% of the time when the case is on it. With the case off, it's like 98%. Doesn't help when LG makes comments like this which points to the fact that the metal sides need to be in contact with your hand.

I disagree with LG on this one. I tested that out on mine and it most definitely did unlock via fingerprint without touching the metal sides. That is their cookie-cutter answer until they come up with a fix I bet. Wouldn't surprise me so see an update very soon.

Speaker, I was so happy they finally put it on the bottom instead of the back and it's lower than the g4.

With regards to the weird lock screen clock... See this:

Screenshot_2015-11-16-15-26-02.jpgScreenshot_2015-11-16-15-26-12.jpg

One picture is what the clock looks like when there is a notification on my lock screen. The other is what shows when there is no notification.

That all being said, I have not seen a setting to change this.

You can quick launch the camera by pressing the volume down button twice.

Thanks! Didn't know that! I suppose I should note that this also appears to snap an auto photo as soon as it fixes the focus. Just to be clear for those using it so that you don't have, ahem, premature visual evidence.
