Things you don't like about LGV10? :(

My biggest issue with the V10 is LG's inability to provide accessories. How can they have a flagship out for two months and there remains no retail presence for the wireless back and battery/cradle? Also, LG remains half-assed with updating. Marshmallow would be great but monthly security patches would be fantastic and what LG should be providing us.

I was using the camera and video reasonably heavy last night and noticed a few things I didn't like. When taking pictures your subject pretty much has to be perfectly still. Any movement at all leads to blur (wiggly kids). I tried going to manual mode and increasing the shutter speed and ISO, but the results were mediocre. On my old HTC One m7 I was able to use the Zoe feature to be able to get still images when there was a little bit of movement on the subject. I also could not figure out how to capture a still within a video. Again on my old phone when I play a video they had a camera button that you can just tap to take a still. You would think that if you pause a video, there would be an option to capture the still. When viewing my videos in a dark car, the videos kept getting extremely dark almost to the point of being unviewable. Even if I unchecked auto brightness and cranked up the brightness, once the video started playing it would automatically go dark. That was extremely annoying.

Sometimes the phone will get hot and drain the battery fast. This morning I got to work and picked up my phone after an hour and it was down to 42%. It just sits on my desk. Picked it up a little while later and it was down to 25%. It's been off the charger for less than 4 hours and it's back on the charger again. I tried a couple reboots, pulled the battery and let it sit for a few minutes, checked the battery and it said the biggest drain was Android OS at 28%, screen at 23% and Android System at 14%. I do get a pretty weak signal here at work but it's like that every day and the phone doesn't do this every day. No idea what could be causing it. I'd take it back to AT&T to have it checked but they aren't the brightest bulbs on the tree and would say it's normal anyway, plus I am well outside my 30 days return. They would just tell me to mail it somewhere for repair. Can't live without my phone!

Glad to know I'm not the only one with that problem. I am using mine on t-mobile. I turned off all the apps, verified they are closed and when I came back to get my phone from my locker during lunch down to 60 percent battery life. Checked Amazon opened, Amazon Photos, And Cloud keep reopening when I close them. And I am sure others are working that I'm just not seeing.

If your phone is in a locker (presumably made of metal) you possibly have very weak or no signal. When the radio has to work hard to keep or find a signal, it will kill the battery quick.

That's my biggest complaint too. I installed Lux auto brightness and it works great.

Anyone else having issues when going to messages a webpage opens notifying that the battery is low and you need to download software to improve its performance AND Google playstore or on the browser page opens with Words with Friends (which isn't installed) for download. Zoner antivirus finds nothing. Tried 3 times Reset to factory data reset. Unchecked backup my data and automatic restore prior to factory reset. Installed only few google apps, yet webpage opens with words for friends, battery low (download this makeare) which has not been done. Or some other malware phishing site. ??? Returned phone got new one and it still happens.

That sounds like an app you have downloaded. You need to factory reset your phone and re-install each app one by one (then open the messages app - assuming that it's the stock app) and see which one is causing the problem.

That feature is only available on certain Android phones. It is not common. Some 3rd party apps give you that ability, however, so you should check the play store.

I have been using the V10 for a week now so far only thing I do not like is

1. No guest mode, before the V10 I had a G3 then note 4 both have a guest mode, I use guest mode or kids mode for my daughter to watch disney jr app, pbs kids and kids youtube. sad this has no guest or kids mode.

2. Native email app is buggy, my hotmail acct do not get new mail but gmail is ok

3. LG V10 accessory sucks, I like to use manufacturers accessories knowing they will play well with the device, only thing I got is a bumper cuz, in korea they say the aftermarket cases do not play well with the finger print scanner so I just got a bumper from LG when I was in korea. (no im not korean I just travel a lot) I was thinking the folio case but I hate folio case

4. I will not talk about the battery life others already mentioned it but I submitted for my free 200gb & extra battery,for now I carry my 20,000mah batt, I am not a heavy user most I do is watch netflix when waiting for my flight.

You need to find the correct server settings for your Exchange Email, esp if you're Hotmail acct is now an Outlook acct. That is also true for your laptop and desktop as I was missing emails also from my laptop. Plus, the wrong servers drain the life out of these batteries and make the phones hot. It's hard to believe but it's true. Once I got the correct settings, everything was fine and that's true for the laptop too. Check the discussion about the LG v10 Radio heating up and towards the end you should find the correct settings.

I have the Verizon v10 and for some reason, the battery life is HORRIBLE....and I can't add my hotmail accounts to the phone either...I thought this phone was going to be great, but so far these past 2 weeks with the phone have been terrible...I keep my screen on 0 % @ all times...and still have to charge my phone 3 times a day...any tips on how 2 make my v10 function better before I take it back ? I want to like this phone, but so far...it has been all hate ugh
