Things You Don't Like About The 6P?

Everyone knows the 6P is 5.7" so obviously it's not going to be smaller. Why is everyone complaining about the size, if you want a smaller phone buy a smaller phone.

I don't even have the phone yet until I pick it up at BB, I'll receive the case and tempered glass before the phone, Oh, almost forgot: It'll be quite a change from the iPhone 6S smaller size but the reviews here, there and everywhere else is telling me there's nothing I won't like except 6.0 and Office 365/Exchange-Outlook integration. No problems with the i6S and well theres some great ROMs available also just in case and well if there's something I don't like there's Nova and plenty of other fixes for everything under the sun; I mean its Android, a Tinker's dream!!! Otherwise it's like buying a new car, you just get used to it like I did switching from the Note 3, and S5 to the iS6 and so on and so on...........Make a long story even longer, sounds like a great phone and a keeper for atlas a year...The frequency of change only depends on the cost and income.

Because it's the best right now and every phone has comprises.

My only complaints are small and they really aren't complaints.

Don't like the button setup. Constantly find myself hitting a wrong button.

SD card slot would be killer.

Software I wish the camera app was better.

Wireless charging would be nice.

Only small things because I really enjoy the phone. More than I thought I would to be honest.

I'm really loving the phone so far, more than I thought I would honestly since it's missing something I've grown so fond of over the years. The S-Pen. I've had all the Note phones except the 5 and I really find the pen so useful. But I was tired of being a slave to Verizon, even after leaving their service and taking my phone elsewhere. So off to Project Fi I went, and got my hands on the 6P since it was really my only option for getting a new phone financially right now.

Can't stand the button placement though after having nothing but Samsung phones before now. They are just in the way with how I use the phone, so I'm constantly hitting the volume rocker by mistake, especially when picking it up. The button placement has also made my car holder worthless. I wish the USB type-C was full fledged C and not 2.0 spec. Wireless charging would have been nice, even if it made the phone a tad thicker. Since the SIM tray is technically dual SIM, I would have loved to seen SD support added like the Honor 7 has, but I can live without it since I just got a larger internal storage size. OIS would be nice, but so far I'm not really missing it from the Note 4 (and it doesn't feel like it's NEEDED like I felt on the Note 3).

Otherwise I basically love it. Love the front facing speakers. Love the Frost color. The screen is great (just wish sRGB mode would stay after rebooting). Fingerprint sensor works flawlessly. The camera is great (can't say the same about the software, but that just requires an app download). And so far I've had no issue with heat like the 810 is apparently known for (currently running caseless too, so I could definitely tell if it was getting hot). And the build quality feels really nice. I'll be honest and say I like how my Note 4 feels more when in-hand, but the 6P has the looks.

lol, the smaller display crowd is certainly a vocal one. I gotta be honest, I'm pretty tired of hearing about it, though I do sympathize since there really aren't many premium compact options. but yeah, people just need to either suck it up and deal with the extra .5 inches, or settle for lesser specs and the smaller display. There's always Galaxy S and iPhone.

Exactly! Everyone is complaining it's too big. You knew the phone was 5.7" going in to purchasing it, seriously if you want a smaller phone suck it up and get a smaller phone, this phone isn't going to have a removable battery, an SD card, that's not what the nexus line is anymore. Deal with it or get another phone.

The title of the thread is things you don't like about the 6p. They're saying that they don't like how big it is and wish it was smaller. How is that wrong when that's exactly what the thread asked for? Not everyone is going to agree about screen size, you're telling them to suck it up, and yet you're complaining it should've been 6"+. It's no different.

What I'm worried about it that we're almost to the point of holding a Nexus 7 to our ears, and there'll be some who are perfectly fine with that and can't understand why people would want something smaller. That's probably also when smartwatches will become essential so you can take calls on them for people who can't manage that.

Technology moves on, and people get left behind. Some people want a 5" screen. Hell some settled for a 4" screen and called it a day. Obviously this phone is 5.7" complaining that it's too big isn't going to change that same as complaining about SD Card or button placement. There is never going to be a phone that makes everyone happy, your going to have to compromise somewhere along the line.

Power on the right, volume up/down on the left would have been perfect. That's the Nexus way, because Nexus 4 and 5 were like this, and it was good.

I never said that wasn't the case. My point was the OP asked what they didn't like about the 6p. It's not about where the industry is going, it's about what 6p owners don't like about it. And someone saying that it's too big is no different than you saying it's too small. The only difference is your want has more of a shot at happening than those who want a smaller device.

The problem with that is like you said, there are other devices that are smaller on other platforms, and if it keeps going up they're going to drive people to those competing platforms. If a company were smart, they'd offer a smaller device with top of the line specs to capture that demographic. But I imagine it won't happen until people leave Android for that to happen.

Some do and others may be willing to give up some things (like not having the perfect screen size) to get a great phone. The thread is titled about what they don't like so if they don't like it.. Well.. It's the point of the thread. They're simply voicing out they'd like a smaller phone but with the same capabilities as it has now :).

I record a lot of voice messages and microphone issue where the phone "seem" to be recording message but there is no voice in the audio file. This random issue is reported here in AC as well as in XDA and very annoyed with that bug. Apparently google is looking into this issue.

Will wait for the 5P later this year "if that's what they will call it" with the SD820 "the 5X was a joke this year", hopefully with wireless charging and OIS, unitl then my N6 will do just fine.

No. I don't want a tablet. I want a larger phone. 5.7" is too small, 6 or 6.1" would be fine. Believe it or not, not everyone wants a 5" phone.

Newsflash, more people want 5" phones than 6" phones, a 5.2" Nexus would be just right with the specs of the 6P and the SD820 with wireless charging and OIS, which we will hopefully see later this year.

My only complaint is the phone gets hot when playing games, or watching video, or just doing anything in general - with the brightness cranked up. Especially with the silicone case on (coz lack of heat dissipation and all that). I worry if the glass housing the camera module would crack due to the heat. I also wonder if the dbrand skin that I have ordered will help / hinder with heat dissipation once I apply it. Other than that, I'm very happy with normal day to day use. Doesn't seem likely, but do I have a bad unit?
What is happening is normal "under the setting you have mentioned", especially when you have the phone in a TPU case.

I don't take many pictures, but I do wish the 6P had OIS. That's probably the one disappointment I have with it.

Newsflash, they don't. If they did the Note or 6S+ wouldn't be outselling their smaller rivals. The smaller screen minority reminds of the same crowd back in the 00's that could not let go of keyboards. People who clung onto BlackBerry until their basic demise. The general pop want larger phones that's why they are selling. Otherwise smaller phones like the Z compact series and others would sell better.

The reason the phones you mentioned are selling well "not outselling their rivals" is one the 6S+ has better battery performance and OIS, the Note is a completely different phone meant for people that need the use of a stylus, the majority of people that I see on the street and that I pick up "I am a black car dispatch FHV driver" use 5" phones, maybe in your small universe everyone uses a 6"-7" smartphone. If the 6P sold the same phone at 5.2" it would outsell the 6" variant, and no the 5X this year by LG is a complete joke. Also please don't mention any Sony phones, they are irrelevant in today's smartphone market, like WP's. And BB's demise was not do to screen size, where are you getting your information from.
