Things You Don't Like About The 6P?

I know rooting solves alot of not picky issues. Just rather not. Might cave in and do it later. Learning my way around it at the moment.

Only had mine 2 days. Is the volume bug noticed when you slide it up and it doesn't seem to get louder in increments? Seems weird in the range from low to high. High is OK , lo is OK but the middle range doesn't adjust much. That about it? Noticed this within the first hour of ownership.

Wishing it had the option for double tap to wake. Sometimes pick it up and its not consistent with waking up. Usually works but the other thing is it times out to quick before I swipe up. I use it a lot while sitting at a table or desk with phone laying flat. Double tap would be sweet. Still getting used to it, just annoying to have to pick it up to see messages.

totally agree, good attempt but nowhere near as good as Moto. fortunately it's something they can fix via future update. hopefully that'll happen before Android N rolls out.

same here. double tap would literally be the only reason I'd consider rooting, and its just not that important enough at the moment.

your observation is accurate. there's not much change in the middle ... volume is definitely one of the few negatives currently on the 6p.

My moto comes in a couple of days and I can do a full on comparison of the two. Checking notifications with a wave of the hand sounds good and much better than needing to pick it up for quick peeks. So far(still early) this battery has been underwhelming and disappointing and not even close to my S6. The Nexus is pretty sweet really, just certain annoyances maybe I can live with. Might send both back and go back to my S6 if I wasn't wanting a bigger screen.

If ambient display responded to a wave of the hand I would prefer it to moto display (because you can interact with the notifications). But you get sooooooo used to being able to check the time and notifications every time you pick up a moto phone or wave your hand over it that I really miss that after using the 2013, 2014, 2015 moto x and a Droid turbo as daily drivers over the past few years. I feel like a chump when I don't have a moto phone and i have to click the power button just to see what time it is.

give it a few cycles. the battery life on the 6p blows the S6 away, and the Moto X for that matter. make sure doze is kicking in, should only lose 2-3% overnight when doze is activated. your phone needs to settle in first though.

Looks like doze is working as it should. Lost 6% last nite. more battery cycles will surely help things.
FWIW: My S6 didn't start getting really good battery life (5+hrs SOT) until Verizon activated wifi calling for it through an update. Cell standby dropped to 2% from 35% over nite. Cell standby was the biggest battery sucker.
My 6P is at 3.5 SOT at 23% battery left. Better than yesterday. It's getting broken in. :)

I don't like how pretty it is. Makes me look ugly........well, uglier anyway.

Pot, kettle, yada yada yada.

Difference is you can get a smaller phone with decent specs. There are no 6" smartphones avail in the US, yet with relative flagship specs. 6P is close, but it combines enough to be a killer phone.

I think this would be a good analogy: complaining that the 6p is too big is like complaining that the z3/z5 compact is too small. You might as well get a bigger phone in that case.

Those who find the 6p too big probably bought the wrong phone.

You assume it's to control someones home system. The primary use of the IR emitter on my Samsung Galaxy was turning off or turning down the volume on irritating TV **** no one wants to listen to but for some reason the doctors office, hotel lobby, or a restaurant insists on blasting :D. No, I don't use it in sports bars or places where people go to watch TV, that would be being a jerk :D. I miss that feature badly.

Exactly... When I had my Note 4 I only used my IR for those random times when I couldn't find the remote or I didn't have access to the remote. It was very convenient to have as a backup remote. Otherwise I find it much easier/qucker just to the remote that comes with my devices on day-to-day use.

Honestly I have nothing to dislike. This is the full package to me at least. Never cared for QI Charging so that doesn't bother me that its missing. It's the whole package in a phone. Great battery life, display, awesome camera and speakers. I don't mind the size, in fact I wanna try something bigger!

Aaaaand.... Thats what she said!!!!! LMAO
(Sorry but I had to)

I've had the phone for about a month now and the only cons so far:

- Requires a reboot a couple times a week to ensure Play services aren't acting up and eating unnecessary battery (Even with that, it'll still last all day for me)
- Some of the ergonomics is a bit weird (button placement, lack of grip which a case helped out big time)

Outside that, it's been an amazing device so far on Project Fi.

I can see where you're coming from. If you want a smaller phone with similar specs as the 6P, the options are very limited as well however =/

If they can squeeze a 6 inch screen in the same footprint, I'd buy it. Alternatively, if they kept the screen size the same and reduced the overall size, I'd also be very happy. Time will tell if they can do either.

Placement of the volume rocker. I'm always cranking up my ring volume without knowing it until my phone rings and max sounds. The volume rocker is exactly where I grip the phone when picking it up. I would also like to the camera UI be a bit easier. I feel like all the features are buried.

Question for those who wish the 6P had wireless charging. What about wireless charging to do you like? The coolness factor or is there another reason? I had a Note 4 and tried wireless charging but stopped after a week. It was slower and inconsistent (like if I moved the phone at night it wouldn't charge).
I much prefer the USB C charging so I don't have to worry about putting the charger cable on right side up and it's quick charging.

It isn't meant for speed. It is more the convenience. For my situation my phone always goes in the same spot (computer desk) when I am at home and having wireless charging was nice. It was nice for it to stay topped off and when I needed it I simply picked it up and walked away without the worry of a cord.
