Things You Don't Like About The 6P?

Yes. No aptX codec from what I read.

Would only contribute to the lousy audio you speak of then. It might be Google not wanting to pay royalties for the audio tech. Perhaps they should come up with something of their own for future updates.

I can see where you're coming from. If you want a smaller phone with similar specs as the 6P, the options are very limited as well however =/

If they can squeeze a 6 inch screen in the same footprint, I'd buy it. Alternatively, if they kept the screen size the same and reduced the overall size, I'd also be very happy. Time will tell if they can do either.

Yeah I don't see why either of those could not be done in future. I think it is only a matter of time when the technology for front firing speakers develops to the point where it provides equal or better sound quality with a much lesser physical footprint.

I only wish this phone had wireless charging because my truck has this fancy built in Qi charging pad 😂

A minor separation is good, and I wish they aren't as click-prone -- I can't even grip my phone on its sides without accidentally clicking on the buttons...

No. I don't want a tablet. I want a larger phone. 5.7" is too small, 6 or 6.1" would be fine. Believe it or not, not everyone wants a 5" phone.

Yeah, not everyone. I prefer 4.5" or less screen size. Shame they put crap specs on everything that small.

-Wish the volume and power button were on different sides
-I'd opt out of the front facing speakers for a smaller form factor and same screen size or just having 1 front facing speaker
-Wish the phono plug was at the bottom
-Qi charging is good, didn't use too much but still a good option to have as my new Camero has a QI charger by the arm rest :/
-Wish the system notification volume could be locked, i'll get a notification at times and its super loud because the volume was moved when the phone was in my pocket
-This is more of a software esthetic issue but wish the home/back/app switcher was integrated into the app, how they are on the home screen and not just black, take away screen real estate, apps like google photos, and buzz feed did a great job with it.

Besides that I love the phone LoL

The large bezels have little to do with the speakers - the Nexus 6 has much better stereo speakers and much less bezel. This was some sort of design constraint with fitting in all the electronics with a bigger battery than the N6 while making the 6P super slim the way that everyone finds so sexy.

Question for those who wish the 6P had wireless charging. What about wireless charging to do you like? The coolness factor or is there another reason? I had a Note 4 and tried wireless charging but stopped after a week. It was slower and inconsistent (like if I moved the phone at night it wouldn't charge).
I much prefer the USB C charging so I don't have to worry about putting the charger cable on right side up and it's quick charging.
I still use a wireless Qi charger from an old Nokia device to charge my Nexus 7. I like it, since I just keep it on a table in my living room. I just put the tablet on the charger when I'm not using it, so it's convenient. I'm not really concerned about how long it takes to charge, since I really never run the battery down extremely on the tablet. Using a Qi charger also saves wear and tear on the USB port on a tablet or phone.

This.

It's not like these things are made from the same stuff as the TARDIS. You gotta put the components somewhere. So either the phone is thicker, or you increase the bezel size. It's not a coincidence that it has nearly the same dimensions as the 6S Plus... and the Note 5, a wee bit thicker, is also a wee bit shorter.

Interesting side note.... A lot of people know about the visor and its purpose.. but I see a lot of comments about why the camera is a bit off-center in that little ring. Well, it was done on purpose. When they tested out the preproduction units, there was NFC issues... so they had to increase the height of the visor to allow for better signal. But it was too late to move the camera. So they choose to turn that circle around the lens into an oval to minimize the visual impact.

  1. Power button is too close to the volume buttons.
  2. No Tap To Wake.
  3. No Qi Charging.
  4. Bluetooth is a hot mess with my car. The colder the weather the worse it works.
  5. Battery percentage is ridiculously hard to read.
  6. Battery life is sub-par for the size of phone.

Other than that it is a great device that I am very pleased with. I shipped off my iPhone 6+ to gazelle because the 6P is really really good.

I guess what I really want in the next Nexus phone is basically the old Nokia Lumia 1520 running android with updated internal components and screen. It should also have QI charging (in the USA and worldwide), NFC, and steal some Moto X features.

Sometimes i find the screen to be to big, but i am becoming used to it. The phone is actually pretty marvelous, BUT there is a caveat. My phone prior to this one was the original moto x. That was an awesome piece of kit. I miss a few of the built in features from that phone. It's kinda ruined me to other phones. I miss the driving features. Yesterday I got a text from my wife while driving, and realized it was missing this feature. Frustrating! I also miss the find my phone feature. I can be scatter brained at times. I know there is a chrome feature for this, but the moto made it much easier. Always listening seemed to work better on it too. I hope Google bakes some of these things in the next iteration of marshmallow.

you can adjust the battery percentage so it gives you a number (could still be tough to read if that's what you're referring to).

I'm surprised battery is an issue, I consistently get 5 hours SOT and easily make it through every day on a single charge. are you getting less than that?

I'll spare you the run down on battery saving ideas, I'm sure you've already checked out the threads, but unless you just get horrible reception, or haven't uncovered a rogue app, I'm surprised anyone would have an issue with the battery.

when you say you received a text from your wife while driving, what feature exactly are you looking for (I'm not familiar with all of Moto x's features)? I ask cause there's probably a compatible app or the option to do it via Google Voice.

I didn't get a chance to read all 8 pages, but my complaint is that the power button is too easy to hit. I often found that I was starting the camera when trying to put the phone into or out of my pocket, I had to turn that shortcut off. My solution, allow the use of a different finger for quick opening the camera. Index finger to unlock, and middle finger to quick open the camera from a locked screen. I think this is a brilliant idea, not sure if it is possible on this phone, but it would be great.

Have you ever looked at selling on Swappa? You'd make out better.

Cheap speakers. Cheap audio quality. Metal is too thin. Constantly being warm in use. Unlocking it from a table. Battery life isn't good for the size of battery and too tall
