Things you've discovered on Note 8?

DJ lee: for quick camera launch, don't use the home button. It's the power button on the right side of phone that you press twice quickly to quick launch camera. I just tested and it works.

I discovered that I use the pen way more than I thought.

I think I am at that point where a stylus pen is required for my next phone.

is there no way to pin a note to AOD indefinitely? I dont want it to go away after 10 minutes :/

The s-pen really grows on you. The other thing I noticed is that when I attempt to write iPhone it doesn't register. Very interesting.

thanks, I definitely know about double tapping power button for quick camera but I can see situations where double tapping home button for quick camera could be useful. I wonder if that option is only on international version. Was curious to see if anyone in the US could see that option.

I had a Note 4, two Note 5s (two different Carriers) then the two Note 7s after which I went nine and a half months with a Galaxy S7 Active with no pen. I had myself convinced that I could get the S8 Active because I could live without the pen. Some tests convinced me it wasn't worth the upgrade from S7 to S8 Active for the money so I waited and got the Note 8 and after a week with my pen back, boy am I glad!!! I had forgotten the things I had used it for and how slick it was for SO MANY THINGS!

all it took for me was my Note 3. having the pen blew my mind. loved it immediately

Yeah, security before home screen. No way around that unless you disable it or use smart Lock.

Sorry....

You can set up Smart lock and setup a Trusted device. I have my Gear watch as a trusted device so everytime my watch is on me and connected it will bypass the security screen when I long press the Home key.

You can find this setting in the Lock Screen and Security.

You have to enable that option: Settings > Advanced Features > Quick launch Camera

Not an option on my USA Verizon Note 8 either.

EDIT: see my reply to that post
not on my phone. I know how to block calls. that option is not available to me, or apparently Tmobile, because I used their instructions to find out what to do because the option isn't there.

and, may I add, you are rude!

I am on Tmobile and I still have the option to block numbers...
