Things you've discovered on Note 8?

if you can set Waze as your default you should be able to. not sure how. I use Waze too. Maps has way too many popups for reviews and you're here and crud I don't want distracting me while driving. miss my garmin.
I miss my Garmin too - the iQue 3600. Fantastic PDA.

I got an answer earlier for this. If the Edge light is on for notifications, you get the small blue note. If you turn it off, you get the larger one. It still isn't as large as on my S5 (which I like more) but it is better than the small.
I have the small blue popup now and I would like to go back to the big popup, but i do not know how.

When in the Samsung messaging app, you can press and hold on a message to select it. If you keep your finger down, and swipe up or down you can easily select multiple messages.

has anyone found a way to disable the mostly opaque full-screen that comes up when you pull out the spen? kind of a pain. at least resizing should be available. covers the whole screen. :( I prefer the way it worked with previous gens.

Do you have the 'Always On Display' selected at 'Settings / Lock Screen and security' ?

Please ignore my previous reply. Having played some more with the AOD it probably irrelevant.

Nope but.... Just tap the pen icon and it'll go away

Alternatively you can click the button on the SPen to toggle the menu on and off but only when the pen is close enough for the screen to register it

thanks all. I know how to do that. the issue for me is that having to swipe or click that exact spot is sooooooooooo annoying. used to be able to click anywhere away from it to make it go away . I've turned it off altogether. now only really annoying sometimes. what I really hate about it is that it covers the whole screen for zero reason. no purpose.

Can't you just go into your spen settings and choose "do nothing" when spen is removed. That's what I did, and when I pull out the spen, nothing happens. I just click the button to bring up air command if I need it

oh yeah. I already did that. it's just a shame Sammy felt the need to cover the screen needlessly.

I noticed that the more I use the Note 8 the more I feel that I need the Note 8. I've been using Bixby all day everyday. I have been really enjoying the camera. Love that I can sign off on documents. Love the screen. The s-pen is divine. I can't say enough about this device. I know that now the honeymoon period with this device is going to wear off and the Note 8 is going to start receiving some shade from users. But not from this guy. I'm sold on this device and very content with Samsung's offering in the Note line this year.

Can you share what you're doing with Bixby

I use Bixby for many quick commands. Everywhere I go I use Bixby to change my profiles. It is really helpful. I use Bixby for general search, creating reminders, calendar events, sending text messages, downloading apps, just about everything.
