Things you've discovered on Note 8?

Last comment, I promise. My profession requires that I speak English in an articulate manner. A reporter even takes down what I say.

Why can't Bixby understand what I say half the time?

Speak like american movie english at first then after it start learning your voice it should get better

Yeah, I used to spend a lot more time tweaking photos until I figured out that just hitting the auto one will do what I wanted 95+% of the time.

Can you explain the feature please? i.e. do you set auto while taking a picture? Or is there some editing feature in my google photos gallery? Thanks for any help.

Just in the stock gallery app, hit the filters button and then pick the first one, auto. Or tell Bixby to auto adjust the photo.

Yes you can. At the bottom when you check details of the call, it had 2 options edit existing contact or create contact

Verizon. OK Google works at times. It always responds with the little chirp, but doesn't always unlock the screen. Sometimes if I say it a second time it works.

I use this in my car sometimes (2016 Hyundai Sonata), when it's connected by Bluetooth, and in my pocket. I say OK Google, and can sometimes go on to have it respond to a command or question. But half the time I have to say OK Google a second time, and then it will respond normally.

Not sure why it doesn't work 100%. Perhaps it's not fully recognizing and authorizing my voice? Kind of like the fingerprint sensor can be a little picky at times if my finger isn't properly positioned?

Excellent post! I tried this and sure as heck if I do Ok Google a second time after waiting several seconds I hear the beep again and this time it unlocks the AOD screen. So this is a least somewhat useful now and hopefully will be something they tweak in the future so it works on first command. But at least I can now us it when needed.

Hide Offensive Words Hidden Bixby Menu

Ok so I kept hearing that the text to speech on Samsung Messages you could turn off the Hide Offensive Words but the problem would return when using the Bixby key to Dictate.

Here's the solution:

Ok so to remove it fully in Bixby there's a secret (not so secret but tricky to get to menu). You have to hold the Bixby button down while in a text message (to dictate your message) while this voice recognition screen is up (while still holding the Bixby button in) hit the On-Screen gear button.
This takes you to Bixby's actual hidden dictation menu with IT'S OWN "Hide Offensive Words" option you have to turn off.

I don't know if this has been posted yet but I just noticed if you are looking at your recent apps, you can press down on one of the apps and a blue screen pops up saying drop app there and it puts the app on home screen. Found it by accidentally doing it lol.

In case you don't understand what she's talking about right above me here are some pics

Just used the feature to write on PDF for the first time. Pretty cool. Filled out a form emailed to me from my kid's school and emailed it right back all from my Note 8.

That feature comes in handy. Signing documents for work when im sitting on the beach is a beautiful thing!

Not sure if this has already been mentioned but if you hold down the button on the SPen and double tap on ANY screen/app if will bring up a quick Notes memo so you can write a quick note. It's come in very handy when on the phone and need to jot down a confirmation #, someone else's #, etc.
