Thinking of upgrading to Turbo

I CAN'T HEAR A FREAKIN' THING ON THIS PHONE! VOLUME WAAAAAY TOO LOW! And, of course, it can not be rooted!

Other than that, it's fine!

Keep your ear more to the top right side. The speaker is only on that side of the opening. Makes a big difference in volume.

To clarify, keep your ear on the top edge of the phone, on the top corner that is away from the corner where the headphone jack is located.

Ummm, the left side speaker you have circled is used for media (and I assume for speaker phone calls) but normal phone calls come through on the right speaker.

At least on mine?

I almost always use speakerphone. I went back and tested your theory. Music and speakerphone do come out of the speaker I had circled on the picture. When not using speakerphone, the handset apparently routes the sound through both speakers. So maybe the correct listening strategy is to hold the phone a half inch away from your ear and not press it up against the ear. In any event, I've never had a problem with hearing phone calls either over speakerphone or when holding up to my ear.

I went from Droid RAZR Maxx to the Droid Turbo, skipping the Droid razr HD and Droid Maxx altogether. It is an amazing improvement. So much I'm skipping the Droid Turbo 2 upgrade, and hoping Motorola releases something amazing for Droid Turbo 3.
