Are you sure you didn't already buy it?
Here it is!
Now I'm even more curious.

Did you side load the pro apk, or did you install from the play store?
do you use an ad blocker? I do, but I paid for the app so the badge.I installed from the Play Store.

same here and I love mysteries, solving puzzles, etc. this is a good one.I don't get it.
Ok, I got it.
You two were right, there is a free trial, though it doesn't state that. I installed it long ago, uninstalled it, and recently installed it again.
I just installed it on my girlfriend's phone.

Great. Now I have ads coming to look forward to....LOL
Yep.
Just make sure to set the ads to convo. It isn't as bad.
Thanks! Does purchasing it make the ads go away?
If you mean Textra, then yes purchasing it makes the ads go away.
I see that bot maybe once every 2 months. It's a non issue for me. Seems every app that updates, issues a "what's new in the update" screen when you first launch it. Android Central is big on this. A simple tap of the back button and it's gone.I find it unhelpful since the only way to make it go away is to delete it, over and over and over and over. none of my other apps find it necessary to bot me to give release notes. which means it's not necessary, but rather an intrusion into my space. it's a personal preference thing.
I don't know why people can't just answer a question, not everybody reads everything everyday all day, so it's very easy to miss something.
The answer to your question is that you will need to use a different messaging app until Samsung fixes this. I'm using Android msgs & all you do is open app to person you want to text, upper right corner 3 dots, people & options then you should be able to find the option to set the text tone.
Post #2 is a link to a thread about the very same topic as this thread. The 2nd post in that thread says use a different sms app, as does the 3rd post in this thread.
I'm sure why you're so bent out of shape when the question was answered way before your post.
