This is ridiculous Verizon!

thats because they are meant to incite people, which is different from being insightful, haha get it?

Hey I don't purposely incite people and alot of my posts are insightful and you and your tricky wordplay must die :p

How the heck did I get so sucked in this easy? That's it, I'm going back to work...

My threads have alluring titles and the content is carefully worded so I am not inciting people but giving them grounds for a debate. (I mean no harm to this forum. I seriously don't I love you guys. :D)

Just for curiousity's sake, and to get a handle on where your experience is coming from, what android phones have you owned or currently own and on what carriers? As for my own, always been with Verizon - went from BB Storm 1 to DInc (rooted) to DX (rooted) to Thunderbolt (not yet rooted).

btw, I see you've moved from Germany to Japan. Must have been quite a relocation. ;)

Huawei Ascend:Cricket wireless.

I've had alot fo experience with the Evo 4g, Optimus C , Thunderbolt, galaxy s, inspire, dinc and I think thats it. Can't remember though. and Droid x.

And yes From America to Germany to Japan all in 2 weeks :)

Although I am a noob to the T-Bolt I spent 15 years on the road (construction and Hurricanes) I always had cell phones going clear back to the "Bag Phone". I was always at the mercy of the company and we always had our choice of phones but not carriers. I have had working experience with every major carrier in 1 yr. increments. When I retired last year and finally got to pick for myself I chose Verizon because of best coverage everywhere I went and they were good about phones I had problems with even the one I ran over.
With any "bleeding edge" tech. glitches are to be expected and as long as the company deals with them responsibly I will stick it out awhile and see if most of these issues get resolved.
Just my $.02

It's all about the network. T-Mobile doesn't have substantial nationwide coverage. ATT is severely lacking in coverage out west, USA. Sprint is acceptable but not as wide spread as VZW, and locally, for me, they are crap.

Coverage first, devices second. What good is the device if you can't use it?

I've sold phones locally for Nextel, Sprint, Cingular, ATT, VZW and T-Mobile. I've used 3 different carriers. All the devices are basically the same. As in, the high end devices have similar capabilities. I switched to VZW, and worked for VZW because they do have the best network and best devices and services.

Here in Omaha all of the big 4 have great coverage and we are getting lte and wimax soon. So resent that statement.

Actually, Japan has the the best devices in terms of bleeding edge technology. Why not get a device from there?

That's what I mean about the network.

I mean, that's cool if you never leave your little burg man. Some of us get out and about. You know, travel locally and globally.

Verizon could request manufacturers to make phones for them. I'm pretty sure HTC for instance didn't just start develpoint AT&T and T-Mobile phones out fo the blue.

Actually that's exactly how it works. The OEM's develop hardware/software combinations (many of which never see the light of day) and present them to the carriers who then decide if they want them or not and then if they do they negotiate possible feature additions/removal and cost with the OEM. A carrier going to an OEM and saying "we want ____" is the exception not the rule.

Hardware specs on a phone are not the most important thing, it's how they perform overall that matters and that is a combination of hardware, software, and yes "the network".

I'm not negative I give a fair chance to all manufacturers and carriers. And if they aren't to what I think they should be I express my concerns. How can they get better if noone crituques them after all ya know.

You also say earlier in the thread that you only pay attention to specs and that is deceiving as specs only tell part of the story about how a device will perform,

Not saying there are doubters, but just in case...

The only thing is the upload speeds seem to fluctuate quite a bit here. I mean I can go from 20Mbps up to like 3.5Mbps up.

That's just a speed test. You won't hold those speeds while downloading a huge file. I know I've tried.

FYI - That app is very inaccurate as well.

Well it's been pretty spot on when I have it tethering. I don't get those speeds here at my house, just around my office and I'm very close to a tower at my office.

Multicoring does benifit us currently with Gaming, Videos, And battery efficiency.

Android is not yet optimized for multi-core so the difference is minimal at best. Dual core is more of a gimmick than anything else at this point. Supposedly Ice-cream Sandwich but then they said the same thing about Gingerbread before it was released too.

Verizon is being outdone by every carrier at this point.

Bleeding edged phones don't exist on Verizon

G2x: T-Mobile

Galaxy S2: Tmobile/AT&T

Infuse 4g: AT&T

Sensation:T-Mobile

Evo 3D: Sprint

What are you thinking verizon? Your being left in the dust.
Dude you must of forgot that the Droid Bionic is on the way. And let not forget about the Droid X2 and Droid 3.

Bionic is non existing and Droid x2 isnt a upgrade imo

LOL the first rule of journalism is do your research. You tout the importance of dual core but NEWS-FLASH the DX2 is DUAL CORE so while it may look almost the same as the first one it *IS* an upgrade, May not be as much of an upgrade as you would like but to say that it is not an upgrade is hysterical and frankly embarrassing,,,,
