This is ridiculous Verizon!

Those 40Mbps+ speedtests were not just a fluke.

I went to Wendy's to grab some dinner and did 5 speed tests in a row. I was about 300 yards from a tower as it was in my direct line of sight while I was in the drive thru.

My results...

Now like I said, I was less than 1000 feet from this tower, so that's why my speeds were ridiculous.

It wouldn't be the first time a company has fudged numbers before though. Only time can tell.

Verizon's not fudging anything. I would be shocked if their LTE network ever dips below 7 mbps when its loaded. (I could see it staying pretty steady at 10 mbps though)

And hey say whatever you want about INK. But his posts always draw a amazing amount of post in no time. :) Yes I toot my own horn. :p
That's the definition of trolling.

What about the Droid X2? None of the phones that you listed, barring the EVO 3D, are bleeding edge tech. They all have 3G radios and have terrible network speeds. Seeing as dual-core chips won't be fully utilized until Ice Cream Sandwich, LTE phones are the bleeding edge right now.

4 of 5 of them have HSPA+ radios which is 3 and 4g

really

That's the only real improvement of the Droid x2

i lol'ed on this one so hard that all the other ones are too except for the evo 3d the other phones bring nothing new to the table and are not "bleeding edge" based on the quote you yourself provided i mean its ok to complain but common dude have some solid facts about what you're complaining about, and idk what you do with your phone that at this time, you really need and must have a dual core or else you would die, but to me its not really that important as the network it run on..
fyi hspa+ is not 4g at lest not in terms of lte so again none of those phones are bleeding edge

Its categorized as 4g for AT&T and T-Mobile.
It's not a generational step up from HSPA. It's basically a software update. LTE and WiMAX are distinctly different from EVDO and HSPA. They're new technologies. AT&T and T-Mobile have bastardized 4G branding by labeling something that isn't 4G as being 4G. Network speeds on HSPA+ are not dramatically different either. Maximum bandwidth is not a valid indicator of network performance or something that naming should be based off of.

Coming this fall: AT&T 5G LTE!

Technically you can't say what is 4g and not, remember LTE is new and HSPA+ is old

Verizon is being outdone by every carrier at this point.

Bleeding edged phones don't exist on Verizon

G2x: T-Mobile

Galaxy S2: Tmobile/AT&T

Infuse 4g: AT&T

Sensation:T-Mobile

Evo 3D: Sprint

What are you thinking verizon? Your being left in the dust.

G2x: T-Mobile. Verizon: Droid X-2 is the closest to it, which is not quite as good in some regards. I bet more people end up buying the D X-2 simply because of the namesake.

Galaxy S2: T-Mobile/AT&T... Oh, that would actually be AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon last I heard. Look up the Samsung Function for Verizon.

EVO 3D: Sprint. Gimmick. 3D is nice but has no real application behind it *yet*. Once it does, then, yes, it will be a killer phone. Sense in 3D is awesome to think about. The 1080p video recording on 2D is incredible, however.

Infuse 4G: AT&T. Not even a real 4G phone. HSPA+ has fast data speeds, but is ultimately 3.5G at best. Enjoy the semi-fast speeds and all the dropped calls.

Now the Sensation I have a hearty respect for, however a lot of Sense 3.0 is gimmicks. The lock screen is mainly what I'd want in Sense 3.0. Aside, yes, it has a unibody, dual-core processor, and a qHD screen. It does one-up the Thunderbolt in all those areas, but lacks LTE. Thats Sensation 3; Thunderbolt 1.

So really, this post was largely infused with subjection. If you claim to want to be a journalist, try doing a bit more of playing Devil's Advocate for BOTH sides. Otherwise, you just make yourself look bad.

I mean, I work for Verizon and I do a better job at looking at Verizon versus other carriers' devices with an objective eye. Verizon is remaining competitive. Yes, there are better handsets on other carriers for certain things. The Nexus line is the only thing no other carrier will have an answer for except whom Google releases it with, and that is because they always have the newest version of Android.

The iPhone 5 will be completely identical for AT&T and Verizon on every function. They are literally the exact same phone.
