I have been dissatisfied with the images from my camera and have been Googling that fact for a while, hoping to find some setting(s) I could change to bring detail back into my images and I seem to have found something significant: "Turn scene optimizer off and make sure beauty mode is off. When you tap on the Filters icon on the top right you'll see two sections below for Filters and Beauty. Tap on Beauty and make sure it's off."

I took a selfie and saw all my wrinkles not smoothed out! I have mixed feelings.

Exactly, mustang7757! Big difference. Here's a pic I took with the light from two LED table lamps tonight. I think for ISO 640 the color and detail are very good.Bill from phone low light.jpg

Hi, new to android here..
I only see scene optimizer but do not have 2 filter options ?

When you turn on Scene Optimizer in the Camera Settings, if you click on the extreme right icon above the image (looks like a magic wan)d, you will see filters and Beauty above the shutter button. With Scene Optimizer off you will not see beauty.
