Please tell me the device you use to post isn't a concession phone. Employers have the right to monitor all usage on concession phones. Security will be breathing down your back in no time.

I think so, but he says what city he lives in, and he posted his gmail account email in the sale thread for his D3. If you Google his email, you find where he has sold other devices that he purchased or won in contests on other sites (Thunderbolt, iPad, etc.). I would say "maybe no one at Verizon will see his posts here," but the main AndroidCentral site linked to this thread in a blog post about what all happened last week. That's how I found it... and it wouldn't be that hard to see if he's ever accessed anything on the web via a company device using his email address - like the Disqus Droid-Life post where he wanted a Pool Party invite or the one where he said he was buying a Thunderbolt the day they started selling. Some of that stuff could be trackable from their server logs and lead them back to him.

I have heard they fired people for much less than posting pics and benchmark scores of an unreleased and highly-anticipated device.

I'm quite sure they leak a few phones out early like this for just this purpose. I don't think there is ANY marketing that can get people (us) more fired up and wanting a phone than to hear first-person-accounts of it's use.

I would strongly doubt they'd fire anyone for doing their marketing for them.

having said that, I wanna thank Joe for giving us all this info - I'm gonna be at the door on Thursday morning at 0900 when the doors open at my local Verizon store!

This is actually a pretty valid question and mine as well. P3droid said the screen looks better than both the DX2 and the D3. I'm curious if it's still pentile, or if they improved upon it.

It's three third gen rgbw pentile screen tech from samsung & it's vibrancy, colors & blacks/ contrast are equal to amoled plus imo, I have put photo's I took from a verizon store.it's the droid 3 next to the droid charge's super amoled plus screen & they're equal in colors & blacks but the droid3's brightness is as bright as the LG Nova which is 700 nits bright! I have photos if you want top see them just write back.even though the droid 3 is not the same screen ghats on the photon 4G & the soon to be released droid bionic you'll get an idea of how it will compare to the sport amoled plus since the screen on those 2 phones are
Better in every way than the droid 3's version.imo, the vibrant colors, higher resolution, ink blacks & super bright screen & whites with a more accurate color reproduction than the amoled plus makes it a better screen.screens have caught up to super amoled already & singer are up to sport amoled plus & imo the photons & bionics are better for the added sharp & screen real estate.no cartoony sized menu's & keypads.the pictures can show you what I mean I'll post them up I'm a little bit or email to anyone.

My job requires all cellphone to be on vibrate. So how is the vibrate on the bionic? I have the thunderbolt and the vibrate on that stinks.

I have my DroidX on vibrate 99% of the time. I very often miss calls because I didn't feel it. ( I use an app that buzzes me every 2 minutes until I acknowledge). I did read somewhere (been reading alot so can't remember where) that someone asked about the vibrate function and the response was that it was stronger and louder (I also don't remember to what they were comparing it to).

So is anyone actually worried they wont be able to get one thursday? Im not. A ton of these things are already built. Im betting most of the sales wont take place until the weekend.

Regardless, ill be there at 9am . Im getting the phone, screen protector, standard dock, and car windshield dock.

Has anyone seen any good gel skin or rubber cases? Im not sure if i want one yet but j/w

It's already dropped to # 19. I am honestly not worried about it selling out. There are atleast 15 Verizon stores within 30 minutes of my house, I am sure I will be able to find them. Not to mention all the Best Buys, Radio Shack and wherever else might be selling them. 2 MORE DAYS!!!!

I'll try my luck somewhere but the VZ store. I think most people's natural instinc is the corporate stores.
