Thoughts on the Note 10 and Note 10+ now that everything has been laid out?

I went and put my Note 8 against the Note 10+ in Best Buy and compared the two, I'm glad I do every other year upgrades so I can see the major upgrades,I have a Note 10+ on preorder.

If you have a Note 9 get a One Plus 7 Pro if you got the ithe every year upgrade Itch, this year the Note 9 doesn't really feel a difference unless you feel dependent on the Headphone jack, and if that's the case then get an adapter, I got this one since I travel a lot and use lots of rental cars where I need to charge and use a headphone jack:

andobil USB C to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Charge Adapter, Hi-Res USB C to Auxiliary Audio Dongle with DAC Chip, Support Phone Calls, and Music Control Compatible with Google Pixel 2 2XL 3 3XL,and More https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GLSVMS...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU6598696

I’ve preordered the Note10+.

I currently have a iPhone X and all the versions before. I did have one of the first notes in the beginning and was really pleased with it back then.

I was waiting on the Note10 for a time now, and I must say I’m pleased with what they announced. But I’m coming from Apple, so my expectations can differ from others :)

I had planned to buy from Samsung. I had assumed they would offer the same offer for a Note 8 trade in as they did in the Spring. As sn unlimited customer I was able to get $450 from Verizon.

Yep another thing Samsung dropped the ball on.

But they included an Exynos 9825 which is new. And since only the US gets the Snapdragon, everyone else benefits from the new chip :P

And Samsung’s been the sole big Android manufacturer to keep the jack on their flagship phones for quite a while...so that in itself is an achievement. While they removed the jack they increased the battery size and included new features like PowerShare (the S Pen also takes up quite a bit of space). Apple just removed the jack because they could...the battery performance of the iPhone 7 remained mediocre.

I'm not quite sure I agree that keeping something the same as long as possible is an achievement. It's not like they were really being pressured to remove it.

Welcome back to the android world.

The Exynos chips have been trash lately so idk how anyone would benefit from that. LG also still keeps the jack for their hifi dac. I believe they’re the last remaining. Samsung barely increased it. I don’t have the spec sheet but I think they increased the MAH by 400. The S10 still has the jack while the battery remains the almost the same size as the note 10 with PowerShare etc. so them removing the jack for whatever the claimed was a lie. Samsung gotta sell them buds somehow. The 7 plus battery was great. Idk what u were doing lol

Fair enough, I’ll rephrase that:

In my opinion Samsung shouldn’t get as much flak as Apple for the jack’s removal because a) they made use of the increased space and b) Samsung stuck with the jack for around 2+ years longer than other major smartphone manufacturers which gave everyone more time to get Bluetooth/USB-C earphones or a dongle.

Nothing to shout about, the loss of the jack is regrettable but was inevitable because of the sheer amount of new features they were cramming in whilst not really increasing the size of the phone. Hopefully the Galaxy A phones will retain them.

LG barely counts as major anymore because only a small percentage of consumers use their phones anymore (sorry if it wasn’t clear). The 7 Plus battery was great but the 7 (which if you can read was the one I was referring to XD) had a crap battery. The Note 10 also has the S Pen which takes up quite a bit of space inside.

And Exynos chips aren’t trash. That is the lamest throwaway sweeping statement I’ve read in a while. They might not be as battery efficient as their Snapdragon counterparts but they are usually more powerful and in this case they are as efficient...the 7nm 9825 is built along the same process as the 855.

So if you don’t mind me saying so how are Exynos chips ‘trash’ (good luck making your case) and make sure you read my comments correctly XD

where did you see it unlocked? i see it only available for Verizon

I was only able to pre order the 512gb version of the note 10 plus in aura black. It would not let me select any other color variation in the 512gb version. Anyone else have this issue?

I have never bought wireless buds or headphones because of the lack of a jack. I bought them for convenience. Any devices I own or have owned that lack a traditional jack I simply used an adaptor. There are times when I use wired and times when I use wireless.

It's all official now. What are your thoughts on the changes/improvements or lack of?

I just checked it out at our local Best Buy. I felt like in build quality Samsung took a big step back. Felt more like their phones from 3-4 years ago as far as the frame/back go. Extremely light, but just felt cheap compared to the S10 and the Apple products. The back of the phone (Aura Glow) was completely covered with fingerprints and it just doesn't look as good as it does in pics. I would opt for the blue one.

Beautiful screen. 6.8 inches will take a little getting used to. I think I'm going to preorder from Sam's anyway. Anyone find what Target/Costco are doing? Just trying to find the best deal for Verizon.

Interesting. I've not heard that from anyone else. Most people are praising the build quality.

The only thing that I am concerned about is the lack of 90hz. I wonder if Pixel 4 display will look/feel better

Anyone compared to 90hz OnePlus at Beatbuy?

Exactly!! Also it was discovered that Samsung has been deceptive about the battery capacity too but eh all they’ll ever get is a slap on the wrist. Such hypocrisy.

Are you serious?! Samsung removed all their stupid ads that made fun of  for the very same things they’re doing so obviously they feel stupid now for even making those ads. Perhaps they shouldn’t have been making fun of  if they were going to do the exact same thing. Don’t tell me they didn’t know at the time because the note 10 was definitely in development when they put out those ads.
