Thoughts on the Note 10 and Note 10+ now that everything has been laid out?

Don't worry about it. Get the $20 double dongle and enjoy. That way you'll have only one cable connected to the phone instead of two cables running from different ports.

$20 for an adapter? Why couldn't they just give you that instead of headphones?

I keep wondering if Samsung will give me a reason to upgrade, but not so far.

Having AirPods for $160 as an additional extra doesn’t compensate in any way for Apple’s decision to get rid of the headphone jack. By including a dongle Apple helped make the switch easier, but having expensive Bluetooth earphones doesn’t count.

Otherwise based on that same logic you could say Samsung has the Galaxy buds (which are slightly cheaper than AirPods).

Instead of providing a dongle, Samsung included Type-C AKG earphones which to be fair are quite decent/good and are far superior to Apple’s EarPods. Would I have preferred a dongle instead/in addition? Probably, if I had already invested in a expensive or good pair of wired earphones. But at least the in-box earphones Samsung provided are decent and for non-audiophiles will provide a good experience.

People kept saying that about the ones that came with the Note 9. I keep using the ones from my S7E, but mostly because they actually stay in my ear.

None of Samsung’s flagships have been selling. Not that other manufacturers have had more luck. I’d say they should all start switching to a 2-year release cycle.

That would do that if people wanted that. Consumers don't seem to. It's not like it was a few years ago, but people still upgrade enough for manufacturers to keep producing new phones.

Plus if someone dropped their Note 8 today (or needed a new phone for whatever reason), went to the store and there was no new version, they would just get the newest phone they could. Not a 2 year old phone.

The S10+ was $1.249 for the 512GB version. The note 10+ is $1.199 for the 512 version. The note 10+ came in cheaper then the S10+, I don't remember that ever happening. Looks to me Samsung reduced the prices for no jack. So $20 on a dongle, your still cheaper then the s10+.

You have looked at Samsung’s last quarter, have you?

Compared to sales of the S9 in Q2, the S10 series is selling 12% better. Results for Samsung’s Galaxy phone sales as a whole are 3% up in Q1 2019 from Q1 2018...again this is a positive result for Samsung. In Europe for example, Samsung’s market share grew by 20%. In Europe Q2 2019 Samsung’s market share was 40.6%, up from 33.9% in Q2 2018. Again, a positive result for Samsung.

Samsung shipped more phones in Europe in Q2 2019 than Huawei and Apple combined. While some of its gains (e.g 3% growth) have been small and others much more substantial, these increases in smartphone shipments during a general decline in the mobile industry are good news for Samsung and a surprising feat.

Still would have been better to provide one, especially to encourage people to try out the device.

Judging from the comments about sales, it looks like the latest "improvements" will continue to be around for a while. That's more disappointing than you might think.

I went to Best Buy today to look at the 10 plus 5G. $1600? Wow.

The screen is gorgeous but I cannot help but wonder how often will the entire screen be filled with it's weird ratio?

I really wanted to buy it but I managed to drag myself out of the store wallet intact.

Holy crap. Mine was 1199

One Tb model with 5G is 1600 before trade in. Keep in mind the trade in value is not double its used value on line. In fact it is pretty much market value so it is silly to list a price AFTER trade in as some people do. I'm not saying you did that.
