Thrive HDMI issue

So check out this screen shot. When hooking thrive up to fully capable HDTV, I get this (see attached). Yet, I can hook up thrive to a 3 year old HDTV and have no issue. Anyone seen this or have suggestions? Neither the tv or tablet have the ability to change resolution. If anyone has any thoughts, I'm all ears. This is a pretty good tablet I would like to use it for work, but definitely need this resolved.
