I was at a local electronics store and looking around at tablets and TVs, stuff like that. I remember reading that Chromecast fixed the Screen Mirroring issues some people were having, including myself, with their Note 4's. So I bought it and Wow, really nice. Works smooth and no problems. Took me a little while to get the hang of the app, but so glad now to be able to stream and show videos, pics, and play music from my Note 4 to my Toshiba Tv.

Thanks to whoever posted about the Screen mirroring issue earlier this month. :)

Nice. 2nd gen or 1st gen Chromecast?

I wasn't aware there was such a thing. How do I find out which I have?

Edit: Never mind, I looked it up on Google. I have the 2nd Generation Chromecast. Judging from the pics, I like this generation better. :)

I agree, the Chromecast is a great $40 toy. I cast videos, music and my screen all the time. I use it a lot more than I thought I would.

Maybe I got bad one, of course it was the original, support told me I had to have it within 10-15 feet of my Wireless router! Now I really like my 2nd generation Fire TV!

Use one in the office to teach people how to use different apps on smartphones.

I think you got a bad one. I have one that's at least 20 feet away from the nearest router, and it has no problems with signal. And this is through a few walls as well.

I agree, you may have received a bad one. I have the first gen and second gen Chromecast. My router is upstairs and it works flawlessly through the walls and two sets of stairs. I travel for work and the second gen works much better in the hotels. They don't always have the best WiFi, but he second gen Chromecast seems to do the trick without any issues

Another possibility is that there's too much congestion on the wi-fi channel that your router is using. Use an app like Wi-fi Analyzer (or InSSIDer on your PC) to look for the least congested channel, and change your router to that channel.

Only if your device supports the Cast Screen function. There's no official list--you just have to try it yourself. If it does work, it might not be a great experience, since it might not be smooth enough.
