Thunderbolt Battery Complaints + Tips/Tricks

Bluetooth seems to be the biggest battery killer (besides the display). I got to start remembering to turn that off.

Wow! An an experiment I turned GPS off today. Previously, I had all three options checked and I was signed into Google Latitude.

After 12 hours of moderate to heavy (including web) use, I'm at 30%!

This is amazing! Before I'd be at about 0% by now.

Has anyone had it long enough to tell how the battery life is?

I've had it about 2 weeks now. On high use with high brightness I have to charge it up to 3x a day. Morning, afternoon & at evening. Normal use I charge it at night & sometime during the day. But I run apps a lot so I plan to buy the battery upgrade.

my phone is at 12% after 9 hrs mostly was not in use as I was sleeping display was at 29% cell standby 22% and phone idle 20%... Im using virus rom.. what app can tell me what standby and phone idle are using to kill all that power?

Stock ROM. I'm happy with the stock battery but I did have to make adjustments.

I absolutely love my extended battery! It lasts forever and I can turn screen up and leave Latitude on! It lasts as long as my Blackberry now.

No, that was with the stock battery.

With the extended, I took it off the charger at 5am. It's now 830pm and I'm at 59%.

Ive had such bad luck with Android and battery life that I almost don't believe you

My phone sometimes get pretty hot, even when I am not using it. Oh, and I also have dismal battery life.

Could it be the battery is defective, given how hot it is? It's reading 86F after leaving the phone with the SCREEN turned off for 1 hour.

-streamed a 43min TV show over wifi
-surfed the internet
-played angry birds
-played blackjack game offline
-miscellaneous messing around


-4G/wifi data was off for 10 hours while I was sleeping. Other time was basically all wifi
-No calls and a few texts
-ROM = Das BAMF 1.4
-Kernel = imoseyon 0.7 undervolted
-screen at 25%
-Email sync every 4 hours, weather every 3, No other syncs.

so, here's my ordeal. I've had this phone for awhile and the battery has been amazing. up until now, that is. now it drops, fast like. 20 minutes and down by 10ish%. I'm using spare parts, and the normal settings, and its not an app. any tips?

Yesterday at 12 hours my battery was still over 40% with normal use. Today at just 3.5 hours I'm at 29% with minimal use.

I cannot figure this thing out. I have another standard battery coming courtesy of my local VZW Corp store.

I can tell you this, I forgot how well the fat/extended battery works.
I've been getting to 8 or 9 PM with 10 to 20% left, charging it nightly with the stocker.

I unplugged my phone yesterday at about 6AM and as of this morning, I still have 40% left, more than 24 hours later.

And I used it a TON yesterday...

Somebody really needs to make a case for the fat battery already. I don't like my naked phone, but I love this battery life.

Seidio has one "Coming Soon". Hopefully it will work with the same holster as the standard case. I'm waiting for one too.

My extended battery life has actually gotten worse over time. I'm not sure what is going on. It's dropping a lot faster and I haven installed any new apps

What the heck and help! My extended battery overheated this AM! I was uploading a video to Dropbox, which was taking forever so I plugged in.

Then I got a rapidly blinking LED and my battery widget said overheat!

What happened and why?! Did I damage my new extended battery? Was it the upload?
