Thunderbolt - Best Buy Availability/Pricing/Ordering Discussion

Best Buy conflicting Prices on TB

This is crazy. For their weekly ad flyer Best Buy has the TB listed at $249.99 but then if you click on more detail, it states the Thunderbolt will cost $299.99? So confusing. First the lack of release date validity and now this?

I would be hard pressed to shell out $300! I hope its just before the online discount or mail in rebate. Let me know if anyone else saw this.

I just plan on keeping the printed ad, and showing them that if the worst case scenario reigns true. That's the best bet.

Why would you be hard-pressed? You're paying for the first phone that uses LTE tech, and for 40 GB worth of flash memory. Its equivalent pricing to a 32 GB iPhone 4.

As a ticked off waiting Storm 1 owner... all i can say is wait!. I mean VZ pushed out my POS knowing of all the problems and others were getting a revised one within weeks of launch with a more responsive screen. I would rather have a smooth hardware launch then the hardware implosion that occured with that phone.

Yea, I don't see why this is such a huge problem for people. Whether it's 249 or 299. I paid 299 for the iphone when it came out, the bolt should be able to do a lot more so I'll gladly pay 299 for this upgrade. Paying 249 would just be a bonus I guess, imo. I'm thinking there is some sort of instant rebate thing going on for new customers or best buy shoppers. Either way, I don't think it should be that big of a deal.

I see the storage argument but I guess with the advancement of technology in the last 2 years, my thought is that that does not hold as much weight. And from my point of view, I am selling my BB Storm 2 and I know I am only gonna get about $200. So my hope was to break almost even or only shell out $40-50 but $100 just seems like a lot more. I'm a college kid so these figures are significant to me haha.

My problem is at the time of the preorder I was told $249, notesed later no metion of the 32gb sd... call and got the normal run around with no clarification... if now there going to tell me thats the price with out the sd and I can get the sd card with the one thats $299 I am going to be pissed becaus there just jurking me around for the sake of trying to get a sale. Just tell me up front I dont want to ask around just to have everything change last second.

they're advertising the sd as "pre-installed" on all the signage and stuff so I think we're ok with that. for an droid that costs 700+ you should 'expect' it to be loaded.

Just talked to Best Buy

According to the representative that I talked to from Best Buy, the $249.99 is the sale price and the $299.99 is the normal price. So not sure if that is truth but it does make some sense. My question is, what will Verizon be charging?

They look identical to me, both with the $249 contract price.

Considering you linked to the exact same page it's not surprising. What am I missing?

Haha my bad. I thought it would show the page that I was on; not go to the same spot. Anyway, if you click the "Mobile Phone Buyer's Guide" to the right it is priced at $299.99 but if you click the middle right hand one that has 2 laptops and says "Future Proof..." and go to page 10 it says $249.99

But like I said, according to the Best Buy rep that is the sale price versus the regular price.

The mobile buyer's guide has it listed at $299.99, while the print ad has it listed at $249.99. I know it's not linked, but I'm just letting you know.
