Thunderbolt - Best Buy Availability/Pricing/Ordering Discussion

I don't think it will stay ay #300 either. They also have the DX listed as 200 when VZW has it for 150.

I think they will honor the $249 price for the people who preordered. I kept a copy of the adverstisement just in case..

well bby can sell it for 300, verizon better sell it for 250. if not....all this waiting for fixing problems an a $100 more price tag will steer me to another device. i just hope they launch all lte phones at 250, an not just the tbolt to get early adapters money.

I just came out of local BB store and they told me that their 2 yr contract price will be the same as VZW after-rebate price but won't be the same is VZW offers extra discount for online purchase. They also told me that if VZW after-rebate price is $300, that will be their price too and they won't be honoring $250 price tag that appeared on their last week's circular. But I was not able to talk to the manager as it was his day off today. Maybe I can talk to the manager about the $250 price tag later.

My other concern was that my 30 day exchange window for the temporary phone I picked up on 2/17 would be over on 3/19. The rep gave me a written confirmation that they will still allow me to exchange the phone even after 3/19 if the release date was pushed beyond 3/19 but also assured me that "most probably" it won't come to that, adding that they did not have any info on release date at this time.

They did have a miniposter of Thunderbolt on display right on the front ..but without any date, or even a "coming soon" tag. Just a plain poster displaying the phone. That I took as more of their sadistic teasing.

thanks for info, we will just have to see how this plays out. there is no other phone out id go with. i want 4g speeds, so as long as this phone comes next 2-3 weeks ill be good.

I personally am going to give the middle finger to BB and just buy it at VZW even though I did the BB pre-order. I mean it raised its price and now has yet again advertised it in a circular when it probably won't be hitting this week... thats BS BB!

I'm pinning more of the blame on Best Buy at this point. I understand that you need to be prepared for a launch, but every week they keep tossing this thing in a circular and raising a bunch of eyebrows. I don't know, just bugs me.

Exactly!!!

For all of you BB pre-order people...hang in there, this bad boy is gonna drop (maybe this week, maybe next week)...either way you are almost done...

So I purchased a Droid Incredible a week and a half ago, but i'm confused on the 14day / 30 day return policy of bestbuy...

If the Thunderbolt comes out 20 days after I bought the Droid Incredible, and lets say the 2-year pricing agreement is $250 or $300, can I walk into Best Buy, pay the $250 or $300 and walk out with a Thunderbolt instead of a DInc?

You are right. You can exchange DInc for TB within 30 days of your purchase. And unlike VZW, BBY does not charge a restocking fee.

I'll wait for BB to get it in, as long as it's no later that the same day I can get it from Verizon. I am hoping we will be grandfathered in for the BuyBack program, we'll see. Love my DINC, looking forward to owning another HTC device and 4G, even better. So. Cal is covered in 4G coverage, should be fun!

I have a question about buying at Best Buy...

I checked the Best Buy VZW on-line upgrade eligibility checker and it did not show that I was eligible. However, I am eligible as confirmed by the VZW website (annual upgrade) as well as by discussions with a VZW in-store rep who was looking at my account. Additionally, when I ran the upgrade eligibility checker at the Apple site when I was thinking of the iPhone, it also showed that I was eligible. But for some reason the Best Buy one did not. The Best Buy checker shows only my New Every 2 date, not that I am elegibile due to qualifying for the VZW annual upgrade. [HERE]

So.... under these conditions, will Best Buy be able to sell to me at the 2 yr contract price?

Also, I've been told that Best Buy will match a VZW advertised price. Word is that VZW will be $249/2yr and Best Buy will be $299/2yr. Will Best Buy match the VZW $249?

If Best Buy does allow you to go for annual upgrade with a new 2-yr contract, Best Buy will match VZW's 2-yr contract price (after rebates). If the VZW price tag is $249 after rebate, that is what Best Buy will sell it for. However Best Buy will not match any special online promotion price offered by VZW (if any).

In other words, Best Buy will match VZW's in-store price but will not match online price.

correct me if i'm wrong but last time i checked only verizon can honor the annual upgrades since its part of the New Every Two program.

ive tried using an annual upgrade at best buy a few times and they say they cant touch your contract till its actually up.

Well this is odd.

So the best buy ad for this week has the Bolt in it again. Last week they posted Correction letters in both of my best buys.

This week? Nothing.

Instead, they posted the preorder information sheet and a thunderbolt poster.

Does that mean that its coming this week?
