You cleared out the old notification and had someone send you a new one and you still get 2?

By clearing out I mean pull down notification bar and press clear.

settings>applications>manage applications>messaging>force stop,,,,clear data,,,,,clear default

When i txt someone my phone number comes up as some 16 digit number?? Does anyone else have this issue? Fixes??

Pull the battery. Should be back to normal

there are many ways, try "shoot me" from the market sometimes it works with unrooted phones

pull down the notification bar and click whatever the notification is, that will open it up and you will know what it is

try uninstalling handcent and texting yourself, see if you get a notification

also, what color is the symbol?

I installed Handcent, but decided that i didnt want to spend the time to customized it. So i uninstalled it. I might try it again in a week or so, but the part that interests me most is that it will split messages over 160 characters. Does anyone know if the stock HTC messaging app does this? All of my friends right now have Verizon... This is just incase i message someone off Verizon, i dont want to spend the time to split the message myself. Thanks guys!

yeah , try what i said, uninstall handcent and send a text to yourself and check it,,,and remove advanced task killer android does not need it and it will cause more issues than it will help

I cannot get Swype to work in the messaging app. Well, it works but it does not put in spaces between words. It works as it should in email, but not in messaging. I have checked the settings and they are correct. Anyone else? I love me some swype and have been waiting patiently to get rid of my eris and get it working on my TB but no go.

Yeah, I'm getting that too. Swype works fine everywhere except the Sense messaging app. There, there's no auto-spacing and no auto-caps. Haven't figured out any solution to that yet, except to type texts in another app - I use SMS popup, and typing texts in it's quick reply box works fine.
