Thunderbolt Issues/Solutions

Whatever you do, do not, i repeat, do not dial *228 with an lte device. You will brick your phone and screw up the sim card!!

Where did you get that info? The VZW monkey told me to do it (I haven't yet). My Storm has a SIM (although GSM) and it never caused an issue there. This phone shows a PRL version in the About / Software section, I don't see why updating the PRL would cause a problem.

My local Verizon did this morning when I was setting up my bolt. They said flat out it will ruin the phone and SIM card. But if u want to b the first to try and let the rest of is know for sure, you can....lol...but I wouldn't chance it.

Why can't we upgrade the PRL? *228 doesn't work for me, it just says call lost immediately. And I can't configure Google Voice for the same reason. The call won't connect.

The first, no thanks. But to be fair, I also heard the VZW guy next to me tell the other guy buying a Thunderbolt that it was dual core and the guy I worked with told me Droids couldn't do ActiveSync. Obviously not all VZW people are as knowledgeable as we'd like them to be.

Anyone do a *228 successfully? I can't see why it wouldn't be necessary since the PRL is still part of the phone and should be kept up to date.

When i txt someone my phone number comes up as some 16 digit number?? Does anyone else have this issue? Fixes??

Same happened to me the first few text's after activation. Seem to correct itself after several messages sent out.

The oddest thing that happened to me thus far is my T-Bolt rebooting itself while in my office today at work. Happened about 5-6 times. Has not happened since though.

my bolt has been perfect. when it is booting up, after the thunderbolt animation the clouds hang around for about 20 seconds, that is mostly my only problem.

That seems to be the standard for the startup. Myself and two buddies of mine all picked one up today and they all do the same thing. Glad to hear you have no issues. That's always a plus. :)

besides the activations snaffoos and having to get new sim cards for our phones my father and my Bolts are awesome! and on the correct numbers now :p

Yea I too was told not to dial *228. Just call verizon and let them set it up.

FINALLY sent from my HTC Thunderbolt

turn off notifications in settings but turn notifications on for handcent so the only notification you will get will be for handcent

I don't know if this is an issue but I cannot get fast boot to work. This is my first HTC phone so I don't know if there is more to do to get it to work than just checking the box that says fast boot. Anyone want to enlighten me?
