Is the reception better on iphones than it used to be? I remember they used to drop calls all the time due to poor phone signal
In my case, I take this as a POSITIVE. I can certainly see were someone would want a small and lighter device. But not here. I'm actually think that just a touch larger would be just right for me.

Dude, I have that exact same setup. Look up Arkon car mount on amazon. There are two and I believe one is larger. It holds my phone like a pro and has a windshield mount and a dash mount. It's the best $11 I ever spent.

Oh, same here, believe me. I've got big hands and a larger phone just "fits" better.
Having said that, I cannot for the life of me find a car dock that can accommodate my Thunderbolt with the extended battery and my Seidio Active case. It's too heavy. I spent the day in my woodworking shop today prototyping out some possible car dock designs, because I think I'm going to have to build my own...
Here's my take on it. If you have an X right now, the only reason I would say to upgrade is to get 4G. Other than that, you will find that each phone is pretty similar as far as performance goes. My vote is to save your upgrade for a little while and see what comes out later this year. Then again, if you're dying to get 4G speeds, and you want to do it at a low cost, absolutely grab the Thunderbolt. I don't have mine anymore, but if I didn't find a way to get a Nexus without paying money (sold my tbolt, got the nexus on an early upgrade) I would have held on to it right up until my upgrade date, and probably beyond that. It's a wonderful phone, but next to the X you won't notice much of a difference.
Also, don't buy an iPhone![]()

I would consider a 4G Iphone IF it had a bigger screen AND I could afford an apple laptop. I like how easily they communicate. I would certainly miss having some control over my phone though.
Do you mean "4S" and not 4G?. As you know, the iPhone isn't 4G yet. I was considering getting an iPhone with my next upgrade because by then it will be probably the iPhone 5 that is 4G....but I really am use to the Android OS and I like the openness of the environment.
