What's next? I know you've had it, with the X (3g/1x dance). I'm not pleased with the LED, on this thing. But, I really like this phone better than the X.

I also had this problem and sometimes not getting Inet connection at all. I called Verizon and got online with a knowledgeable tech rep. This is a known issue with a simple fix. Do a factory reset of the phone from Settings menu. If you decide to do this, make sure you back up contacts, calendar, etc. Mine was immediately put back through Google account, and my connection issue disappeared..

I also came from a BB Storm2. I did like my phone although there were some software issues but nothing drastic. I did hate their internet speed. Terrible. Lack of apps. Painfully slow software updates though Verizon. However email, contacts, calendar, syncing, were a breeze.

With my TB, I cannot sync through HTC sync because it keeps opening the verizon Media app. Very bothersome. Battery life is not great. Capture, copy and paste of images can't be done. (at least I haven't figured it out yet). And NO convenience keys. One on the side would be great to map to the camera. But the phone is awesome. Speed is ridiculous. Apps and Google services are great. Voice command and search outstanding.

So am I keeping my TB. 75% sure I am. My concern is the newer devices coming shortly that can do everything I want with more battery life. My Storm2 is on standby as I have 4 days left to decide. They should give us 30. Either way, the TB is a great phone, with the normal growing pains.

day 14.... going to look at the atrix.... then deciding to go back to x or extended battery. dun dun dun

My phone was free, unlimited talk, text, web and email, and unlimited mobile hot spot. I'm not giving mine up!

I'm keeping mine and glad to see the majority of people here keeping theirs. I think Verizon will get a lot of returns but to be honest, it's their own fault. The phone needs to come out of the box with the minimal (if anything) amount of data being fetched by any app. Let the user decide what apps will update and how frequent and LET THEM know the effect on battery life. I see this as a general problem with android and the carriers since they load them up with junk (like blockbuster) to subsidize the cost (come on you think verizion put blockbuster on the phone for free???).

The big difference with Android and iPhone is the out of the box experience. iPHone out of the box works for 99% of the people out there. Android will work out of the box for maybe 15%. The rest have to do the work (hours of research) to get the device to hum. A lot of people won't take the time to do this.

Supposedly google is working on the user interface/experience. I hope they do, because it's sorely needed. THIS IS FROM AN ANDROID FAN!

Thanks for listening....

People give Blackberry so much crap, and in my opinion, Blackberry doesn't get credit where it is due. Coming from a Blackberry user and a student at MIT, I have been wanting to upgrade to Android for a while now because of the power that is being put into Android processors these days along with upgraded hardware. The only thing that has stopped me from doing so is that my Blackberry does everything I need it to do. It is so reliable and though it doesn't have flashy software or hardware that your Androids and iPhones have, Blackberry devices do what they are supposed to do, and they do it well and with ease. I have been eligible for an upgrade for quite sometime now and still can't find it in me to get rid of my Blackberry.

The last Blackberry I had which was the Storm I had to do a battery pull about 3 times a week. I also had the Tour, Pearl and Storm 1 and have you ever waited for a Blackberry to reboot or software update. Takes forever and then you have to attach them to sync. They were crap compared to Android and Iphone. I have them both now. No BB for me. I have had several Android and didn't get rid of them because I didn't like them I always traded up. Bite the bullet you won't regret it. But just my opinion.

For the people who got their Thunderbolt's on the first day, the 14 day return clock in winding down.... and for any one else that bought one as well.....

Who is going to keep their TB and who is not?

I really, really wanted this to be a great phone "for me."

But I don't like the battery life, even though it's better now with bumping and tweaking.

I don't like the way the contacts are displayed and searched.
I don't like the way the calendar is displayed and searched.
I don't like the way the email is displayed and searched.
i don't like the way the text is displayed and searched.

It all has a look and feel of apps that were put together from a generic app building program by engineers. Light on style and ease of use. Much like a lot of the other cheap looking apps in the app stores.

The TB has a huge screen, but they didn't make the best visual or practical use of that size in their graphic design and layout of the calendar, contacts, email and text. Apple and R.I.M (OS5 - never tired OS6) both did a better job AND with SMALLER screens. You may disagree, but I am coming from a 33 year career in graphics and illustration, so maybe I look at things a little differently.

Sure, I can get used to it if I keep the phone - but I had high hopes, maybe too high, for my Blackberry replacement.

There is a lot to like about this phone, but also some disappointments on both the aesthetics and practical use.

Anyway, those are my thoughts.

Blackberry are you serious? I had four of them Pearl, Tour, Strom 1 and 2 and they all sucked compared to Android. Give me a break. You are right there is no comparison from a Blackberry to an Android or Iphone in all the catagories you mentioned. I own them both and have had many Androids and always traded up for a newer one. By the way is anything you do like?

KEEPING!!!

I have had the OD (great phone once I got used to it), then the Incredible (I loved it wish I had kept), then Droid X (was good but selling it) now the Tbolt. It is what I call my "grown up Incredible". Best every had and the issues which are minor HTC will fix. It has a lot more features than the Incredible and the battery is as good if not better than the X and everything including the internet is faster. Keeping for sure and I paid retail for this thing. Might just do that on future phones so not extending contract then I can buy what I want when I want but this one will do me for a while.

Android processors and hardware is advancing so fast. It is great to see things advancing quickly like this, but in order to enjoy the upgraded processors and speeds, we have to have a battery that is able to power these devices so that we can use them. Like I said, I do not have a Thunderbolt, but it seems crazy to only equip the phone with a 1400 mah battery. People seem to be crippling their phone just to be able to make it last for 5 hours (example: Dimming brightness down to 25%). Bottom line is developers need to focus on improving the actual battery itself now.

I'm sorry did you say you don't have a Thunderbolt? Why are you commenting? If you have a significant other did you rate them prior to getting to know them?

I agree with you in the sense that people give BB too much crap... but, did you ever own a Storm? pretty much the worst software I have encountered... and I am a software developer, i have seen some shotty software

Already returned mine due to poor battery life, went back to dx

Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk

My Tbolt gets as good battery life as my DX and is twice the phone. I have a 30 day old DX which is brand new out of the box that I will sell you. Oh the reason it is brand new is that I made them replace the second one with a brand new one and had to raise you know what to get it done. DX?

I am definitely keeping mine! I came over to Verizon from the BB Torch and I couldn't be happier. BB does a lot of things very well- I will miss profiles but I have not once thought about returning the Thunderbolt. It's a great device. My only disappointment is battery but it has improved a little over time. I feel that the many great things it does far outweigh better battery life. The Bolt is all I hoped it would be and more.

Try an app called Mobile Profiles or it may be just Profiles. It has a pic of a pink phone. Been using it for a long time works great and the paid version you can customize.

Are you kidding me?

This is easily the best phone I have ever owned. Battery issues are cured simply by turning the display down to 25-30%. I have zero issues with the phone.

My only gripe is with the battery when using 4GLTE, on 3g its fine. After a week of travels I have noticed the drain. But I am the guy that has a car charger one at work and home so the pros outweigh the cons for me. Keeping it.

ya its a good phone. i had a bb storm2 was happy with the emails and fb notifications with it, now with this phone i do everything with gmail so i get my emails and notifications just as fast. no complaints here. and its soooooooooo fast lol

Facebook notifications blow on Android. I'm not sure why facebook can't get it right and with push notifications. This having to check in every x minutes just to get SOME (messages, friend requests) notifications is for the birds.

PS I will miss the ability to just switch the sim card and phones as I want.

You can do the same with Verizon phones if you have more than one that will work on your calling/data plan. Just go to verizonwireless.com and select your number (if you have more than one on your plan) and you can activate a device. You don't have to move anything from one phone to the other (i.e. SIM card).

i know fb notifications suck on fb, what i did was i changed my fb email from yahoo to gmail and they come instantly now just like a bb

I do not think this is true because i just came back from the VZ store to exchange my Tbolt because of the flat power button issue. They said that its a defect and is exchangeable. They would have exchanged it but there system was down to activate the the SIM cards. I asked if they could just switch out the SIMs but they said no, they have to activate a new SIM card...So I have to go back tomorrow for the exchange.

Keeping!

I was actually one of the people who did not have problems with their Fascinate and really liked it. However, locking into the unlimited 4G was appealing. When I saw the $149 price, I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did, this phone is great! Luckily I'm not experiencing the issues that others are with build quality etc. I'm going to keep it and enjoying it!
