Tired of Waiting

If you actually read the OP's post, you'd realize that the waiting is just a piece of the reason why he/she is going back to iPhone. The OP has quite a few valid points, lack of support as a result of too many android devices, lousy communication between google and service providers, etc. It IS enough for people to be disgusted. Whether we needed a thread for it or not is another story, but the points are valid and your response added nothing to the thread. This device has been known about for a long time. It should have been finished and released by now. WIth the shear man power and size of a few companies like google, samsung and verizon, things should be capable of happening at a fast pace.

Look at the pace other companies are banging out devices. Yes, they come with some bugs, but I'm mean we're talking about essentially the big three here, teaming up...

None of those points pertain to a nexus. Lack of support( always first to be updated), lousy communication how? google does not control update times once source is released to OEM's. Sorry that people just like to complain about everything yet 99% of them have nothing to do with google. But like others said if you want an iphone see ya nobody is going to stop you. And to your post that claims I added nothing to it, I added plenty to the discussion, just it was stuff you people don't like to hear....smh

Re: Ultimatum

Ok....uhhhh.......if your parents are dictating what your going to do then I will assume they are paying for your phone and service and therefore nobodys losing "your" business. If you are paying for your own phone and service then its time to grow a pair and stand up to your parents or grow up and get your own plan. Either way you have nothing to complain about.....either get what you want with your own money or be thankful you have to "settle" for a rezound on mommy and daddys dime.

Not so much.

This is (or was supposed to be) a 17th birthday gift. My birthday was last June. I said I wanted a phone, and I wanted to choose. They said OK, knowing that the phone could cost up to 300 with contract. It's not like I asked for a car and am throwing a fit because they can't afford a BMW- this is just my parents getting sick and tired of me being in limbo. I've offered to pay for a Razr or Rezound to rent (So don't tell me to get my own money when I have plenty), but they have refused, saying "it would be too complicated." Being on a family plan, that leaves me virtually powerless. So before you go off on me for being a spoiled brat, best check the circumstances from now on, shall we?

Well stop breaking your phones these aren't toys. As for renting that us the most stupidest thing I've heard. If your so impatient to wait for a phone then u some serious issues to resolve. I do have a some good psychologists numbers I can share.

And you need to think before you post too.

Do you seriously think that I broke the phone?

No!

It was a 4-year old phone that my parents found for me because THEY were sick of not being able to call me- not because I was growing too impatient. I could keep waiting. The phone they found had no charger. It charged off my PC via USB charging, but it has suddenly stopped taking a charge from my PC. I did nothing to break it, so don't insinuate I did. This phone was owned by a drug addict before me, and he was not particularly gentle with his things. Any damage that was done to that phone can be traced back to him, I assure you. Stop giving me crap for situations you don't understand.

If you have plenty of money why not tell your parents you no longer want a phone and go get one on your own? Doesn't seem that difficult. I mean if they won't let you then that is part of life and you should be glad your parents will buy you anything that expensive for a b-day present.

I'm sure you've explained this to them, but it really wouldn't be complicated at all :/ in fact, just have them buy whichever one you'd prefer to use in the meantime and then return it for the GN. It's just like an exchange at a clothing store.
I mean you buy a pair of pants at the store, later see a pair you like better, so you bring back the old ones in exchange for the new ones.

That sucks that a difference of 1 week could end up being the difference between getting a phone you might(?) be happy with and the phone you really want. Is there any way that you could sell the phone your parents get you and pay out of pocket for the Nexus when it's released? Either way, I hope the situation works out for ya.

No not at all they have not announced a date and that is precisely what I am tired of waiting for. I went through this with the Thunderbolt as well and when it was released it NEVER lived up to the hype. If the technology is not ready to be released then don't claim that you are ready to release it.

I can see you complaining, but you should start complaining after december eighth.

Yea, but you're not wearing the pants around in the mean time. If you are, then where are you buying your pants?

a wise guy, huh?
The difference is you're allowed to use the cell phone in the mean time, my point was the actual act of exchanging is fundamentally the same.

Please save this post. Read it again in 15 years and I think you might have a little different perspective on if your being a spoiled brat or not. Then call your parents and tell them thank you.

I'm tired of waiting too man. The GN is for sure losing its excitement with me. January is just around the corner at that means CES. Who knows what goodies await to be seen.

If you use that type of logic you will never buy another phone, computer and etc. There is always something bigger and better in development.

-_- do you seriously think I don't understand what my parents do for me? This is absurd. I am dropping this because otherwise we're both going to end up banned. This isn't worth a flame war. DROP IT.

Fishy... you need to put some thought into what you are saying. You state that Verizon has "lost you" and then say you will have to settle for the Rezound (a very nice phone BTW). Its a little contradictory. Maybe you meant Samsung? If you meant Verizon... well thats just not the case is it.

It kinda ruins your 'cred if you know what I mean.

If you want a specific phone and get it when you want... then go on your own. If not.... then beggars cant be choosers can they? After all... some one else is paying the bill.

I was saying Samsung and Google, and the moment I am on my own plan and not a family plan, I am off Verizon for good.

Why December 8? Did Verizon make an announcement that the Nexus will be released on that date?

Good grief, the phone is late (even though they never announced it) and it sucks that we don't have it yet. You guys should stop responding to each other and let it go.

Re: Ultimatum

Please don't be that "know-it-all-guy" that shows up when a younger person is participating in a thread.

First off, the quote is a direct response to me and that is my answer all based off his and mines earlier posts.

Second of all I never have represented myself as a "know it all guy"....although I think I know when I see someone ing and whining about how much it sucks that their parents are not going to buy them the 300 dollar phone that they want them to.

If this is a place for conversation and making points relevant to others posts...... and someone makes a post complaining about how a company is going to lose "his" business if they don't let his parents buy him a specific phone this week.....then I think its within the norms of internet forum etiquette to voice my opinion that he has nothing to complain about. Of course I dont have 1600 plus posts so I obviously dont know it all....maybe you can enlighten me.

FOR THE SECOND TIME, I offered to pay for the damn thing myself, so I could just OWN SOMETHING so they would stop complaining that they couldn't call me. Now DROP IT.
