To 4.3 or not to 4.3?

Hi all. I have this fantastic phone for about 3 months now. I'm based in Australia and finally got a notification that an update for 4.3 and sense 5.5 is available.

My question is, should I update it or wait for 4.4? I've briefly read some threads wherein people are experiencing issues with 4.3.

Any advice/suggestions are truly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You'll have to update to 4.3 to get 4.4 so you may as well. I've had no real issues thus far with 4.3 and don't know what all the fuss is about. I'm loving having no BlinkFeeds!

Do it! There are a lot of nice improvements. New and improved quick settings with ability to choose which ones you want is a particular highlight.

Just do the update and enjoy it until 4.4 comes out. It's a good update IMO. Ground breaking? No but its nice to have!

I updated to 4.3 just an hour back. Took my phone off charge some time back and battery has dropped to 97% in 3 mins. I haven't even done much with my phone for the battery to drop.

Anyone else experienced this with 4.3?

Anyway, I'll report back if there are any other issues I come across.

Gsam battery monitor. I didn't touch my phone after I took it off charge. I was just doing something on my phone and the battery dropped to 97% straight away

Happens to me. Mine lights up green at 98% and it starts ******* up (touch screen wont work, double tapping home button inaccuracy, etc) if I don't leave it in a little longer after the green light. It's really weird, I'm likely to install a 4.4 Sense 5.5 ROM if it happens one more time.

Same thing happens to me on 4.3. I read it's nothing to worry about. As long as it doesn't drain that fast after 97% you are good.

Thanks guys. Now, I seem to be experiencing another problem. I am unable to click on the hamburger (three vertical dots) to view more options (WiFi section, gallery etc.)

Also, when I click on share via the gallery, the options don't show. I click on it several times but the menu just doesn't show.

I'm so frustrated! Please help.

Hi! I can't help you with that issue, but as for the update, are you on 4.2.2? I'm also an Aussie, and I already had 4.2.2. Lots of the other customer's in the US and elsewhere when straight from 4.1.2 to 4.3. It's possible that lots of the complaints are already relevant to 4.2.2, so 4.3 shouldn't be a downgrade anywhere. I personally love the update!

I had 4.2.2 before updating to 4.3. The thing is, I had no issues with 4.2.2.

Do you think it's related to 4.3 or is it this particular handset? Do you think I should go to Optus and seek a replacement?
