To My Naked Colleagues...

Having insurance would have been my number one priority.

I hear too many problems of people on Verizon having to keep sending phones back from bad refurbs. I know never say never.....but I'm super careful with my phone..if I do happen to break it...oh well..ill buy a new one. I usually change phones every year anyway. I have 3 phones on my account so I always end up having an upgrade laying around somewhere anyways.

idk, a lot of screen protectors are junk. I even tried the Zagg one, and that was a real piece of jelly junk. Otter box makes good ones, and another company (I forget) but I play real rough here in the mountains, and the last time my phone dropped from my lifted truck, the gorilla glass acted like glass, and chipped real good. I think it depends on what you are doing. If you use one, get a good one, and if not, the glass is scratch resistant because of the owens corning molecular properties of the glass.

It really boils down to personal preference. Not whether a screen protector is necessary or not. Some protectors offer anti-glare, privacy, a mirror, easier swiping (feel), less FINGERPRINTS/SMUDGING etc.

Choosing to use a protector does nothing to adversely affect your phone. Is there a give with some? Sure. But assuming you know what your purchasing it shouldn't be an issue.

It is ok to take extremely good care of your device whether it needs it or not. If i drop my phone (and I have) I would rather it be protected on as many fronts as possible, than not at all (and wishing it were protected).

Again, to each there own if you like your phone in the buff I ain't mad at ya!

Well after reading everyone's comments mine is now running 100% naked...around the house. We we go out I throw my otterbox on him. Jeeves needs his coat just like me. :)

My first touch phone was the Storm 1. It ended up with a pair of gouges in the screen from the ring on my middle finger due to the two separate occasions I punched it out of sheer frustration. I don't think a screen protector would have saved it from my rage.

No screen protector for the four months I've had the X and all is well. It lives in a pouch that is attached to my belt.

I had a zagg screen protector on my phone and after three months I got it replaced with another and the screen looks flawless. I've really been considering just removing it as trying to swype with it is a major pain in the ars so I'm considering taking it off, I have the otter commuter case and use it religiously but when I'm at home it comes off.

What screen protectors are people using that are claiming it reduces clarity?

Before my screen protectors came I had it naked for about a week, and upon putting on the first protector realized I couldn't even see it. the only time I can ever even tell the protector is on there is in direct sunlight.

And I am 22 with 20/20 vision, so I really dont get it. I will add I am using cheap 1 dollar screen protectors off ebay, I think they are really thin compared to the more expensive ones a lot of people on here buy.

I think you guys should check out the cheapo ebay screen protectors they work awesome and I have not seen any reduction in clarity.

I use generic cut to fits from Walmart. No clarity issues either. However, the no glare screen protectors Verizon sold me with the phone pixelated it terribly. I think the main issue is with no glare protectors and the really thick ultra durrable ones.

Some of the anti glare screens add a grainy finish since they aren't as smooth as a regular protector. However, they offer a really nice feel and very easy swiping without the prints.

I have yet to use a screen protector that I was happy with. They make the phone look and feel too different for me to enjoy.

Never used a case, or a screen protector in my X. Not a single scratch, scuff, dent or scrape to be seen on it either.

Lately, I have been thinking about getting a skin or something for it just to change it up a bit.
