To Screen Protect, or to not Screen Protect...

Used to hate Zagg but the new HD Zaggs are great and BB will put them on for you while you wait.

I never liked the feeling of the Old Zaggs thought they were a bit sticky and caused a drag type effect. are the newer ones different it that way more smoother to sorta .

I have used a few of E-bay and never had an issue I ordered 2 different ones for a few bucks and just picked the one I think looks and feels better. The one I just put on seems to look and feel great (
Amzer Anti Glare )

I have a question for those of you with the Zagg HD. I had the HD installed as soon as I got the phone at Best Buy and after a day I notice if you look at it at an angle with the screen off there are scratches/markings on the screen protector from my fingernails. I thought this material was not supposed to be able to be scratched (as well as prevent scratches to the screen). If your fingernail touches it, it leaves an indent. It hasn't self healed at all either.

Also, I still see orange peel if you look at it with the screen off at an angle. I never saw the original Invisibleshield in person so I don't know how improved it is. But I can still notice the orange peel effect.

Can those of you with the Zagg HD, please let me know if you are experiencing the same thing and if it is normal. I want to know if I should go back to Best Buy to see if they can install another one for me. It is driving me crazy. Thanks.

Unfortunately, the scratches you see are sometimes the result of the manufacturing process. They are embedded into the skin. As for fingernail indentations, those will go away; faster if you're in a warm environment. However, if you gouge the skin, it's toast.

I have to agree. I was on the fence about getting a screen protector. I got the Zagg HD and I am pleased with my choice.... Now Im just trying to debate what sd card I should get. Will a class four suffice? Looking at class tens and Im wondering if there will even be a noticeable difference.

You'll notice the difference when transferring to/from other devices. Loading a ripped movie from my pc to my Evo 4G takes about an hour with a Class 4; about 4 minutes with a Class 10. In the phone, it won't matter so much.

No screen protector for me. I used a suede pouch from sfbags on my EVO and it looked like new after two years. Plan to do the same with the new EVO as well.

I had a Ghost Armor on the OG for about 4 months until the corner started to peel. ripped it off and went without a protector or case for the rest of the time. Corners are a bit chipped (on the phone body) but the screen was still scratch free after 2 years.

I'm not planning on getting one for the LTE, nor case, but I might have used the free one if it had been black instead of the aqua blue I did get.

These are unrelated to the manufacturing process. How long do the fingernail indentations take to go away? What is your definition of gouging the skin?

I used to panic about getting a screen protector on their..in fact I would use the full skins and cover everything. But no longer needed with Gorilla Glass. I have carried OG Evo, and now Evo3D in pocket with keys, coins etc. for the last year. NO marks of any kind on it.
Wife has continued with my OG Evo in purse etc...still no marks.
I was convinced by the Corning folks demo at Consumer Electronics Show. That stuff is tough..and GC-2 on LTE is lighter/thinner, but just as tough.

Ok. If you're certain you made the scratches, they, and any indentations, should heal within a couple of days. By gouging, I mean you dig into the shield so much that it stretches; that will never go away.

No screen protector or case on my phone and it still looks excellent.

I had the regular zagg on my OG and it had that smear feel, but its gone w/ the HD version. while i didn't pay anymore for the HD, it was definitely the right choice.

not sure on scratches as I dont have any on. BB installed for me (but they goofed up the 1st one and had to put a new one on)

Dropped my og Evo on cobblestone from about 4 feet high, chipped the bottom edge of the gorilla glass, otherwise it still worked perfect and looked great. I won't use any screen covers, it's just not necessary to mess up the beautiful device HTC has made.
