Today is the 18th. WHERE'S MY FROYO!!!

Obviously something is going to happen in 10 days that will allow him to give us more information - I don't think it's condescending to inform people of that.

I think Verizon figures most of us have waited about a three to four weeks just to get this phone in the first place. So I would just start looking at it like this. Today we all just ordered our phones and have about three to four weeks to get the update. I think it is kind of funny really.

I also feel Verizon has a plan on trying to push out the Droid 2 a little bit before releasing a 2.2 update for the Incredible. If I was them I would wait to release it after all we are used to waiting and I don't think they want to back log the Incredible again. I know a few people I have talk to lately said they are getting the Droid 2 and not the Incredible just so they don't have to wait for the update.

That is just my two cents worth.

I think...

The incredible is still the flagship phone. Every and all efforts will be made to update it ASAP.

Now if the D2 had s major (think storm 1 launch) flaw, then the focus would be to get that fixed first and foremost. But that isn't the case, thank god!

Doesn't the Droid X have a few major flaws? Mainly dealing with email and exchange? Last thing I heard about their update was beginning of September.

Gimme an "R"

Gimme an "r", and a "o", and another "o" and cap it all off with a "t". That's right ladies and gentlemen do not be afraid of the "ROoT"! So easy, my only question is if I should go unrevoked forever or not?

I think they're making great progress or it's not a complicated issue that's requiring so many man hours that they can't do testing for all three Android phones.

I'll be able to say more in about 10 days, give or take. Generally speaking, if I can share I will and do. If I can't, I won't.

I'll be honest that this post gives me a bit more belief that this guy has some inside knowledge.

I don't think anyone gets credit for saying the 18th wont happen. Most people didn't buy it in the first place.

While 2.1 is great itself, I'm mainly hoping for the update to fix some of the bugs and to add the extra stuff. Froyo was just an added bonus of what the original OTA update was suppose to be.

I only have one issue with the things patches is trying to sell, yesterday he was saying the update failed Verizon testing and no other build was in testing, now all of a sudden it's wait 10 days give or take and I'll have news, seems a bit suspect to me, but then again I'm not in a huge twist over the update anyway, if I decide I want it, I'll root and get it without verizons piss poor testing.

Atlas, you're getting warmer. Builds expected to be rolled out today failed, what could happen between now and 10 days from now?

Start testing a new build maybe? Who knows?

I remember patches from CB and I welcome his input. I always appreciated the info he gave us.

The only difference between now and then is, the storm sucked so much that everybody installed leaks instead of waiting for an official.

Ok,who really thought today would be the day....well other then Phil of course ( just kidding Phil)

Everyone who knows better does now. :P lol J/K if you wait on Verizon you will be waiting forever. Anyone who came from a BB should know that by now, they are in no hurry to get it moving to you guys. And they could care less how mad you all are getting because they know you will rejoice and everything is forgiven when they start pushing it out.

So why not root and install a "hybrid" now? You will be so much happier.

All I really want right now is a way to get my Incredible linked up to the Bluetooth in my new Tundra. Anyone know if that will be part of the 2.2 update or if any of the other Rom options would make that work?

Agreed, root is pretty badass. I'd suggest it for anyone who's technically competent. If you need help, I suggest going to xda and reading.
