If your not already rooted putting froyo on is even easier! As far as the bugs go there is one patch you apply after you update and everything works GREAT. 0 reason to wait for the official if you ask me.

I get a couple FCs every time an app opens the browser and I close the browser with the back button to go back to the app. not a major bugg, but annoying

Is there any advantage to rooting W/OUT upgrading to Froyo? If I root my phone, will I be able to receive the OTA Froyo build?

I read multiple forums and there are reports of multiple little bugs. The gmail 0 bug is one of them. I think there was either a wifi or a gps bug (or both).

I research things before I buy them/installl them....... and the reports are that the leaked version is from July 3rd and there is a good chance it would have been released mid month if the bugs were not there.

Now, I do not want to suggest i have inside sources, but I do believe strongly that the leaked version has enough minor bugs that it is worth waiting for the official one.

After the EVO's is confirmed as working, I'm willing to bet the Incredible update will start being pushed out. Why? Because Verizon is the more careful of the two. They don't want an update bricking any Incredibles.

I understand that installing a leaked rom is not for everyone but if your taking the time to read about the bugs you should also know there is a single zip file fix for them. The new gmail app is nice, nicer looking has signatures, copy and paste and a lot more options then before. Unless there are other big improvements I'll stick with this leaked version to keep root even when the official comes out.

Seems like its anyone's guess at this point. I heard rumors of today and rumors of "end of summer" so if it comes anytime between now and the end of August, I'll be happy. If September comes and we still don't have it, then I'll start to get annoyed (but will still be happy with Froyo).
